I really, really wish she had 4 toughness to make her bolt-proof. Because otherwise, her stats are really great.
They made her not-bolt-proof for a reason, she'd be borderline too-good otherwise.
Looks like Gisna, the Eldrazi Angel is a 9/10. I'm actually looking forward to seeing Bruna and the meld-monster.
The flavor text bothers me...
Is not better it written "Now she only hears Emrakul's murmurs."?
I think that unless one of these dudes straight-up wins the game on its own, it's unlikely to be worth it (at least in Legacy). I mean, you already have to go through a fair number of hoops just to get your Gurmag Angler on the table in the first place; sacrificing it just to get another creature seems like a poor trade *unless* said creature is a game-ender. Then again, maybe there's something that's aggressively costed that could see play. I also think that they might be tacking on 'draw a card' or some other similar replacement effect on ALL of them to make up for the sacrificed creature, so maybe these have potential beyond Limited.
I now care not about Emrakul's angel.
Too bad you can't just Reanimate the melded Angel creature. That ability is SICK, there are very few ways of getting out of that mess. Not to mention having a 9/10 flying, vigilant first-striking life-linker.
Man I like Meld a whole lot but I can't even imagine how good the individual cards will have to be or how good the melded form will have to be for me to ever see it being run in a legacy deck.
Was there ever any clarity given on what the CMC of a melded creature is?
I skimmed the Daily MtG articles earlier and believe I read that only 3 melded creatures are in this set (Chittering something, Hanwier whatever, and Eldrazi Angel make 3). So judging from what we've seen, Meld will never come up in anything other than Limited and Standard (and EDH I guess...).
There is a subtle difference in what each of those mean though.
"She now hears only Emrakul's murmurs." Implies she heard other mumurs in the past, but now only Emrakul's.
"Now she only hears Emrakul's murmurs." Implies that she can only hear Emrakul now and could be interpreted that that is literally the only thing she can hear.
I mean, it's whatever and both give you the gist, but there is a difference, however small.

Yaaaaay! Semantics.
The same can be said for the statement below. Now "she only hears Emrakul's murmurs" implies she heard other stuff before.
Similarly, the original statement implies the only thing she hears is Emrakul...
I think we need an English major to diagram out those two sentences.
Sum of the melded cards.

Wait I'm hearing there are going to be 3 meld cards? So we already seen all this mechanic offers?

Now I wonder what I could have done to piss Tabak off enough to block me. Others (like Robert Schuster) I could see, but I don't even care about this guy.
Edit: I guess it wasn't the foiling process - the coloring of the new Thalia does instead look terrible.
Would have prefered a 2/2 for .
I'm very happy that the non-buy-a-box Thalia art is great.
