    The Source Legacy League

    Welcome!

I intend to organize a unique online tournament aimed at pitting decks against each other until a true champion can be found. This will not be Modified Swiss, and deck choice will not be free, so please read carefully.
This will be done through Cockatrice, for more information on the client please visit https://cockatrice.github.io/

    • Using Decks to Beat & Established Decks, along with interested participant's input, a list of Legacy decks to be used in this League will be developed & published. This list will always contain a number of decks at minimum 1.5x the number of player entries.
    • At the start of the tournament, a lottery will determine a participant's pick order. In that order, players select a deck from those available. Once selected, it cannot be chosen again.
    • Players then construct a Legacy legal deck conforming to what they chose. Decklists will be submitted before play begins.
    • Once all decklists have been submitted, a tournament schedule will be published. Play style will be Round Robin, with each deck playing each other once. In the event a tremendous amount of players enter, some matches may be omitted.
    • Matches will be 1 week long, played over Cockatrice. Both players will post results.
    • At the end, winning records have a small playoff to determine a champion.
    • Prizes TBD

If interested post here, we can discuss the details.
    Thank you.

Definitely participating (if I'll have internet and at least a laptop at my disposal when the tournament is running :p).

I mean, if both competitors agree, they could meet up and play in person.
Cockatrice just seems to be the defacto client for free play, and with the deck hash it's easy to verify constant decklists throughout the run of the tournament.
But no I don't have any specific opposition to xmage.

    Re: The Source Legacy League

Okay since it was quiet weekend, I'll call it here.
    Current participants are:
    Xod
    jmlima
    Useless
    taconaut
    TheArchitect
    whocansay (I think)
    Rocco111
    mistercakes
    ScottW
    Star|Scream

10 people is 9 weeks of play then a top whatever for finals. You guys let me know. 4?

Now is the part where we build the list of decks eligible for this tournament. Reply with 3~4 suggestions, combining duplicates we should be able to come up with 15~20 decks.
Also let me know what kind of prize support or entry fee you'd prefer. I'm fine with $0 and bragging rights, but if you're all hardcore, then I guess we could Bloodsport.

Once everybody has confirmed we'll move onto the lottery. If I don't hear from you in a week, I'll assume you got mauled by a tiger and you'll be dropped.

    Thanks guys

Familiarity really. But I'm just going to be TO, so if everybody wants something else, it makes no difference to me.

Well, I've no clue what Xmage is, so I prefer Cockatrice because I got that all set and running. Top 4 sounds good to me. I would like a small entrance fee like $5-10 or so, just so there's some extra thrill about winning matches. I PM'ed you my deck suggestions. If you want them in the thread I'll just edit this post.

BTW, I might have a friend who's interested in this as well, had forgotten to ask him earlier, but I can still do so if that would be of interest (I can imagine we don't want an odd number of players).

    My deck choices:

    Storm combo (ANT/TES)
    Lands
    Team America (BUG delver/midrange)
    Nic Fit

    Re: The Source Legacy League

Deck suggestions can be public. And for ease of players who might be forced into unfamiliar decks, try and keep them consistent with Thread titles.

The lottery results and deck selection will be private, you'll only know what deck has been selected before you, but not by who.

Odd number of players just means somebody will have a bye week, but won't really affect the round robin play. Overall record is still the main goal. If there are last minute signups before the 30th they'll be accepted, but we're not going to push back the date.

    KUMITE KUMITE KUMITE

    ...ahem.

I'd play for stakes, I'm down for whatever (maybe not more than like, $20 or something, $10 or so seemed good for the last one like this we did).

Decks I'd put in the pool:

    ANT
"Dark Bant" or whatever we're calling the eight-dork, Reid Duke GP special
    Lands
    Bomberman (if we're getting spicy)

    Re: The Source Legacy League

    Hi there,

Cockatrice would be preferable for me too.

Fees> 5 to 10$ sounds good. Just please bare in mind I am based in Europe (both for the games and any other organizational thingies to deal with). :)

    Decks:
    Hypergenesis
    RB Reanimator
    UR Delver

    Cheers
