You are assuming there is a MM2019. It really looks like a chasing out by WotC

Probably reprint them all again. Goyf gets a third(?) reprint? Why not do the same with other staples? Whatever, it'll be bad for Legacy in the long run... All those staples, and a RL still in place.

This could be a market test by the new management.

I'm not saying it's the easiest deck to play, but the plan is so linear that I could probably get white girl wasted and still beat people with the deck.

Can't imagine why they wouldn't, this is easy money for them. Players love it, and it costs them the same to print the cards and they charge distributors twice as much for the product.

There are still plenty of cards for EMA 2018. Eternal Masters isn't just Legacy legal cards.

    Demonic Tutor
    Mana Drain
    Sol Ring
    Strip Mine
Land Tax (I know this is Legacy legal, but it's another likely reprint)
    Imperial Recruiter (ditto)

And there are a good number of commons and uncommons that have never seen a foil printing which many people would be excited to see.

Those are all good options that would sell packs. There are also plenty of expensive pre-Modern cards that are played in EDH even if they are rare in Vintage/Legacy. If wotc wants to do Eternal Masters 2018 they've got the options for it.

This MMA 2017 looks like the real deal and I ordered some this morning. Preorder prices seem to be rising as more is spoiled.

And all of those play well with the EDH crowd, which possibly is bigger than the Legacy and Vintage player-base combined.

The preorder prices for a lot of the staples are still pretty high. $70 for liliana, $35ish for fetch lands. If this increases interest in the formats that use these cards then the playerbase will grow (or look to buy into more decks) so these prices will climb back up just in time for another MM set. Damnations are in every black EDH deck and still at $35 right now, so unless they print the everloving shit out of this set they will be fine to just print MM17 round 2 in another year or two.

I get this feeling every time the subject of reprints (and/or RL) is on, but I love you.

Although for once, I'm probably not among the ones who would lose a lot of money in this particular case of reprints, owning very few cards from the past ~5-6 years.

Pete Hoefling the owner of StarCityGames.com agrees with my point of view as well.

There is still an artifact spot between Boros and Dimir Signet.

Looks like good ol' Adam Prosak is mainly responsible for all the highly demanded reprints.

And it turns out to be Damping Matrix.

Doh! They sure trolled us with that one when we thought it would be Chalice or Crucible.

I mean, if you own non-RL cards you don't really have a leg to stand on if you complain about losing the equity in those cards to reprints.
