Winner of Eternal Weekend, EU - Thomas Mechin

Tournament Report by the winner of Eternal Weekend EU, Thomas Mechin. Translated from French, so it might be rough in a few spots. Enjoy!

Report was great, but am I getting this correct (since I've heard this from other streamers in the past week):

The premier European Legacy event had :
    1. Cut to T16 instead of T8
    2. Timed Elimination Rounds (the report mentions winning the Semis off Sudden Death)

    If so, ?!?!!?!?!?!!?

    Both correct.

It was a split to top 16 since they didn't want to add another round for time reasons, I think most players were happy with this. T16 then played a match to make T8.

The elimination rounds were timed, despite a few of us appealing it. The semis didn't finish until after 12 midnight, it would have been better in my opinion to play the T4 in the morning and have no time limit, but it is what it is. I can understand them wanting to get things wrapped up.

That information is correct, but it misses some important parts:

The TO offered to do untimed rounds, but only if players agreed to play the second half of the playoffs the next day. If players had agreed to that before the start of the Top16, there would not have been timed rounds.

Players who couldn't attend the Vintage Event (or any other event) on Sunday because they still had to play Legacy playoffs would have also received one or more Byes for the event.

I think that was a great offer and it's a shame people didn't agree to that. Especially since in the end, Thomas and Anders did decide to postpone the finals to the next day.
The seven cardinal sins of Legacy:
    1. Discuss the unbanning of Land Tax Earthcraft.
    2. Argue that banning Force of Will would make the format healthier.
    3. Play Brainstorm without Fetchlands.
    4. Stifle Standstill.
    5. Think that Gaea's Blessing will make you Solidarity-proof.
    6. Pass priority after playing Infernal Tutor.
    7. Fail to playtest against Nourishing Lich (coZ iT wIlL gEt U!).

I'd forgotten about the offer of a bye, thanks for bringing that up.
