Printing cards, that are iconic mostly for their original art, with new art..it makes sense.
Everybody go home, nothing to see here. Not suprising, but still disappointing.
I'm pretty sure they're at the limit with "yet another Masters Set". There's only that much to be reprinted before the fatigue kicks in. Sure, there are some cards they could reprint, like Port or Mana Drain, but they simply can't keep it up anymore.
They should abandon pure reprint sets asap and do more stuff like Conspiracy 2 (without the draft-only garbage) which had a healthy mixture of old reprints and new hotness (e.g. Leovold, Recruiter, Prelate, Palace Jailer).
So the point of this set is to sell cards that aren't playable even in the few formats they're legal in for a premium but without any of the oldschool stuff that might get the "feels" going?
Is this the place that the old MTGO team went? Because that's about the only people I can think of dumb enough to believe this would work.
Don't even joke about it. The number of people working on the set is HUGE.
And why for the love of all that is holy does a reprint set need a Worldbuilding team? The only way this isn't going to suck is Adam Prosak showing some common sense. Otherwise, it's going to be FUBAR.
The purpose of any moat is to impede attack. Some are filled with water, some with thistles. Some are filled with things best left unseen.
That is legitimately commendable
Back on topic, looking forward to EDH masters. Should be fun to compare peoples pulls to the msrp at least.

PM me if you want to contribute!
I dont get this set. I guess its 'edh cards that are too expensive to reprint in commander sets and some 'iconic' cards to lower the EV of the set' masters?
soooo, we're finally getting imperial recruiter and rishadan ports? these should be considered iconic enough?
