How 'bout a Grim Tutor reprint?
Horizon Canopy reprint, much needed seeing as the card is sitting at $90 right now. Image was to big so here.
Mana Drain reprint, does this mean they might unban it in legacy?
Highly doubtful, they did a judge promo reprint already and didn't unban it, I doubt this moves the needle any. Also, blue based control doesn't need to get any better right now in Legacy.
The thought of finally being able to get some Japanese Mana Drains is pretty damn exciting though.
and $30
all confirmed for Iconic Masters
EDIT: there's more
$22
i can't keep up with the flow of amazing reprints
$15 Jin-Gitaxias, $11 Sheoldred, $20 Avacyn Angel of Hope and $26 dollar Magus of the Moon all have been confirmed
basically everything that was missing from past masters sets is being reprinted in this one, it's crazy
How'd they get the old Thoughtseize art back? Amazing.
A lot of the packs being opened at the Pre-release are easily $100+ at current prices.
looks like they decided o reprint everything not on reserve list that hasn't been printed in years.
Maybe we can expect rishadan port and other insanely high priced lands.
Hopefully we'll see the following
Abrupt Decay
Snapcaster Mage
Surgical Extraction
infernal tutor
True-name nemesis
chalice of the void
rishadan port
And likely these as well
Lightning Bolt
hymn to touch
Land Tax
Karakas
animate dead
black vise
dark ritual
swords to plowshares
white knight
If they do whole cycles like those dragons you can expect angels, demons, elves, and maybe clerics / humans for white.
Gonna be stupid set to draft with channel fireball running around.

why cards are so expensive...hoarders
I'm happy for a lot of these reprints but the majority of these cards are hardly "iconic"
Flusterstorm is a prime example. That card is not iconic at all, for any period of MTG. But it desperately needed a reprint. Shrug

This will lead to further spikes of reserved list cards. THey have gone overboard once again verifying that non-reserved list cards do not hold value.
Its not iconic. Staple =/= iconic. And nostalgic =/= trash. its moreso a vintage card than a legacy card I would say.
I expected more cards like Mana Drain. Old cards that are not reserved which have never seen a reprint, as well as some things like Serra Angel. And of course, Mind Sculptor reprint etc.
Although I agree that reprints need to happen at some point, going overboard just pushes speculators into ABU/AN/AQ/LG/Saga/Destiny cards. Foil Grim Monolith at 1k-2k USD is just completely absurd and it will lead to the death of Legacy. Modern has its own problems, but at least it doesn't have the reserved list making the format succomb to speculators.
Totally agree here. I'm happy that certain cards are being reprinted but this feels more like Eternal Masters II than Iconic Masters.
The fact that they couldn't print anything from the RL really made Iconic impossible to deliver on. In fact I think EMA was more iconic than this. It had:
Demonic Tutor
Vampiric Tutor
Necropotence
Force of Will
Wasteland
Sinkhole
Vindicate
Winter Orb
Jace TMS (one of the few new-bordered cards that I actually would consider "iconic", and you could even through Squadron Hawk, also in EMA, in there as the backbone of a notorious menace deck)
Maze of Ith
Natural Order
Karakas
I mean I could go on and on with "iconic" cards in EMA. Kird Ape, Bolt, Mishra's Factory, Llanowar Elves, Hymn, Fact or Fiction... Those are historically important cards for the game at low rarities/values, in terms of how their power was discovered and impacted deck construction, and would be staples in any Standard format today...
Lorwyn art Thoughtseize was a nice touch but they should've just called this fanservice masters. It's great that there are reprints, I'm not complaining about that... I just feel like watching this reveal today has hammered home how many iconic cards are locked away on the RL. From power and duals to Academy and Survival. What a blight on the game.
Edit: And the fact that they STILL haven't reprinted Rishadan Port, which was the best/most played card in its expansion 20 years ago and remains stupid today, makes it all worse. I'd rather have had that than freaking Flusterstorm. It's Iconic Masters!
