Buying / Selling on Facebook Question

I'm in the process of completing an international sale via the high end FB group and am likely being too cautious but I'm a little concerned about the transaction. So my questions are:
    1) Is there any risk for the seller if you are doing a PayPal with the fee (so not FF)?
    2) I will be shipping with a tracking number. Once I submit this number to the buyer, who is responsible if the cards somehow get lost in the mail?

Any other recommendations? Am I just being too concerned? FYI, the guy didn't ask for references and I have none posted. The sale is around 300$.

    Thx!

Sounds like a gentleman's agreement thing. Usually with tracked shipping, the courier company assumes risk for lost or damaged parcels. Check with their terms of service.

Never used Facebook before, but I'm about to use it.
If it's a normal user (not a new user without any friend) the community, I guess, can destroy someone's reputation if there is a fake, or just doesn't send the cards. For sellers I don't know exactly how it works... Usually I always buy stuff but I don't know if through PayPal they buyer can get his money back even if nothing bad really happened...

Could you share the link of the group? I've been checking the misprint and alterations group, but I couldn't find the high end one :(

    Good luck

I'm sure there are paypal detailed rules that can create exceptions, but in general:

    1. The biggest risk as a seller is that the shipping service loses the package along the way and the buyer never gets them (more below). The other risk you face is the buyer tries to defraud you with a chargeback. As long as you keep a record of all correspondence you have that proves you had an agreement to sell, and you ship with tracking, and the tracking says the package was successfully delivered, you shouldn't have any problem winning a chargeback filed against you. Ironically, the risk of getting a fraudulent chargeback actually increases for the seller if payment is sent as goods and services rather than friends and family, since paypal offers no protection for F&F payments.

    2. As the seller, you're responsible for making sure the cards successfully reach the buyer. If USPS or whoever loses them, the loss is (at least temporarily) on you. The seller would be able to go through paypal to get their money back from you. You would then have to try to recover money from the shipping service who lost the package while mailing. As the seller, you're responsible for how much you want to cover your ass on this (shipping service, amount of insurance, etc).
    From nothing came teeth.
