a counterspell for 2, especially when not in black, is just too expensive though. And the looting effect is still card disadvantage. The discard effects are just best for disruption, a counterspell won't do any good when you want to protect your infernal-tutor with led cracking.

Re: The Perfect Storm in Legacy

The idea to port Vintage storm combo decls over to Legacy isn't new, but doomed to fail due to 2 cruel facts:

The metagame is deeply blue and there are next to no reusable manaaccelerants, which means that Draw7 are plain horrible. Ramping mana with Rituals to see the Draw7 getting countered is close to an instant loss due to the carddisadvantage and even if you succeed with the Draw7, you give your opponent a bunch of counters with a fresh grip to stop you from proceeding.

Legacy Storm is about speed and blanking most cards the opponent holds, not throwing bombs until your opponwnt runs out of counters like in the old Vintage days of Grim Long.

P.S.: Talking about The Perfect Storm is misleading, as TPS was a deck with Force of Will, Basics and maindeck bounce to battle Trinisphere. If you opt to battle stuff like Chalice as the idea behind the deck, start with FoW + Perilous Voyage
