    Re: [DECK]Death Cloud

I would want Explore before those cards, but Search for Tomorrow has been great.

Overall, I think there will be a lot more copies of Spell Pierce around. That makes Death Cloud TERRIBLE. Not sure it's very good at all, in any iteration, right now. I will have to wait and see how the format settles.

I like your thinking. Spell pierce IS brutal.

Heres what ive got so far.

    4x Search for Tomorrow
    3x Sakura Tribe Elder
    3x Garruk Wildspeaker

    3x Inquisition of Kozilek
    2x Thoughtseize
    2x Liliana of the Veil

    4x Fatal Push
    3x Death Cloud
    3x Maelstrom Pulse

    3x Bitterblossom
    4x kitchen finks
    2x eternal witness

    2x primal command

I really like bitterblossom in a deck like this, however we need 1 or 2 pieces that gain some consistent life. Thrag isnt an option with bolt and ajani vengent making an appearence back in the metagame. Does the green god gain life?

Post board we can increase removal or discard if we need to. My personal favorite is the plow under package. We just need a bit more to stay alive and i think we got something.

Looks good, Bitterblossom is definitely good tech, board presence has been an issue. The card that has consistently overperformed is Courser of Kruphix. I definitely want at least 2 of them.

Command/finks is enough lifegain I think, but I'm also messing around with Bow of Nylea. Lots of value.

Don't forget Damnations in some number in the main/side.

I like damnation but not preboard. I feel like you already have a shit ton of removal to handle those situations.

Board pressense: requirements: good against fatal push, works well with deathcloud. Scary to deal with. Can aggressively push. Also thins out that ramp in your graveyard so you dont shuffle it back in.

Bow of Nylea: i like it as a 1 of.

Have you tested beseach the queen? So versatile for 3 mana.

    Re: [DECK]Death Cloud

Beseech seems good, but I'm not Sure it's better than Primal Command or even Dark Petition.

I've playing a few test games against my other modern deck Jeskai Delver (with have of course.) I have ended games with multiple death cloud in my hand. It's just not that great. I'm going to drop DC down to 1 copy and test Smallpox. Also want to try Reaper of the wilds.

So it would look like this roughly:

    4x ste
    3x finks
    2x courser
    1x witness
    1x grave titan
    1x reaper of the wilds

    3x thoughtseize
    1x inquisition of kozilek
    3x push
    4x smallpox
    1x death cloud
    2x search for tomorrow
    2x liliana of the veil
    3x garruk wildspeaker
    2x pulse
    1x primal command
    2x crime/punishment

    4x verdant catacombs
    1x windswept heath
    2x overgrown tomb
    2x blooming marsh
    3x swamp
    3x forest
    1x plains
    3x urborgs
    2x treetops
    2x hissing quagmire
    1x ghost quarter

    Sideboard rough:
    1x damnation
    3x wrench mind
    3x fulminator mage
    2x abrupt decay
    2x creeping corrosion
    2x scavenging ooze
    2x pithing needle

I actually really liked Gaze of Granite. It might be even better than DC in this metagame, because it can actually kill Jace and wipe out a bad board position.
