From my experience no, because you want to get Welder active asap. The easiest way is if you can sacrifice an artifact for free and by itself. Wellspring can't do that and felt more like win more in the mid/lategame.

I am not saying this new card is good, but it's worth testing. We are talking only about a Tier3 deck anyway...

Mishra's Bauble is probably better for Welder at least.

Story spoiler - but also a 1 mana pariah effect. Can Stuffy Doll combo now be a thing since they have access to more cheap pariah effects?

So, seems death is rather meaningless in and of itself, especially as a technique to stop anyone from doing anything in the long run. In fact, it seems a way to even allow (cause?) things to be done! But wait, time is not an actual thing, so there is no cause, only when there is, and then (maybe) there isn't! In fact, nothing was ever allowed or disallowed, because everything already happened but also did not happen! But maybe that is the "point" there is no long run, because there is no time! Deep!

Then again, since time itself is not really significant, we can just do it all over again, or not at all, or actually both and none (in fact we already did (not) maybe (not)).

It's fun when there are no rules!
Spirits took over Modern for a few months so it stands to reason that they can do anything a live Human being could do.

Remove up to 5 counters from target planeswalker, artifact, creature, or opponent.

Well, it kills most walkers, which is cool, hits Teferi even after he +1s for one mana, which I'm sure isn't an accident. Too bad it doesn't hit lands. Still, fringe playable in Legacy.

What counters do players get that you would want to remove?
Only thing I can think of is Poison counters, but you can't target yourself, so what then?

Energy also exists. But really I think it's just about "prospective future design space."

Narset is not actually a planeswalker. It is a cantrip that you can use a second time. If you want it to be, it is a cantrip hoser also.

Card is INSANE good. The card advantage from this card will be hugenormous in something like miracles.

It also knocks new Lili down to 1, which is flavorful.

Any way to abuse this with PWs in the grave? Or is this just too damn expensive?

Well you can loot and bring the cost down to 4 with Mizzix's Mastery. Probably not worth.

Is that better than just entering the infinite?

Bolas also didn't die, so WotC is eventually going to whip him out again. Fuck this.
Isn’t Oblivion Ring strictly better? and it doesn’t see play already.

We need some kind of “stop all loyalty abilities an opponent controls”

Poron, it does say scry 1. So no, o ring is not strictly better.

    Re: War of the Spark

the ability to remove a pesky enchantment or artifact is really comparable to Scry1?

in a deck like UW control (the only one which will play this) with all the deck manipulation and cantrips they have?

Scry 3 would have been a thing
Draw a card would have been a thing

Scry 1 at the price of artifacts and enchantments isn’t
