I think it's DL like Wrath said. You can draw OTP.

    OTP
    T1 Tyler - Vial
    Wrath - Icatian Store tapped

    T2 Tyler - Vial @1
Wrath - Store @1, Fountain tapped

    T3 Tyler - Vial @2. Myr Superion
    Wrath - Store @2, Fountain @1

    T4 Tyler - Vial @3. Attack him to 15
    Wrath - Store @3, Fountain @2

T5 Tyler - Vial stays at 3. Attack him to 10. (you need to hold up Deputy, otherwise he drops Wurmcoil Engine first)
    Wrath - Store @4, Fountain @3

T6 Tyler - Vial stays at 3. Attack him to 5.
Wrath - Remove 6 counters: Elspeth. -3: destroy Myr. EOT Vial Deputy to exile Elspeth.
If he plays Wurmcoil, you Deputy it and win. If he +1s Elspeth to make 3 soldiers, you Deputy the tokens and attack him to 0 or kill Elspeth.

    T7 Tyler - Vial@4. Attack him to 4.
    Wrath - Store@2, Fountain@1

    T8 Tyler - Vial@5. Attack him to 3.
    Wrath - Store@3, Fountain@2

    T9 Tyler - Vial@6. Attack him to 2.
    Wrath - Store@4, Fountain @3

    T10 Tyler - Vial@7. Attack him to 1. Chancellor.
    Wrath - Wurmcoil Engine

Stalemate. You can't profitably attack into Wurmcoil.
If he attacks, you take it. He goes up to 7 and then you attack for 7 to win, so he can't attack either.
    Draw.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    OTD

Same thing except he gets Elspeth down a turn earlier, at 10 life instead of 5. He still has to -3 Elspeth. Then he ends up at 6 life instead of 1 when he plays Wurmcoil, which allows him to go aggro with Wurmcoil.

    T1 Wrath - Store tapped
    Tyler - Vial

    T2 Wrath - Store @1, Fountain tapped
    Tyler - Vial @1

    T3 Wrath - Store @2, Fountain @1
Tyler - Vial @2. Myr Superion

    T4 Wrath - Store @3, Fountain @2
Tyler - Vial @3. Attack him to 15

    T5 Wrath - Store @4, Fountain @3
Tyler - Vial stays at 3. Attack him to 10.

T6 Wrath - Remove 6 counters: Elspeth. -3: destroy Myr. EOT Vial Deputy to exile Elspeth.
    Tyler - Vial@4. Attack him to 9.

    T7 Wrath - Store@2, Fountain@1
    Tyler - Vial@5. Attack him to 8.

    T8 Wrath - Store@3, Fountain@2
    Tyler - Vial@6. Attack him to 7.

    T9 Wrath - Store@4, Fountain @3
Tyler - Vial@7. Attack him to 6. Chancellor.

    T10 Wrath - Wurmcoil Engine
    Tyler - pass

    T11 Wrath - Wurmcoil attacks.

Because he's at 6, Wurmcoil can safely attack without dying to counterattack.

You can't race. Wurmcoil will win (+6 life, deal 6 damage, take 7 damage).
You could block and trade Chancellor with Wurmcoil, but then the Wurm tokens beat Deputy.
    This one you lose.

    Re: 4 Card Blind

Preliminary standings for the final (12th) round:

Rank. Player: score - season points:
    1. FTW: 36 - 6
    2. Asthereal (TO): 21 - 3,5
    3. Tylert: 19 - 3,2
    4. apple713: 18 - 3
    5. Wrath of Pie: 16 - 2,7
    6. H: 10 - 1,7
    7. Whoshim: 4 - 0,7

So FTW takes the crown in style. Congrats!

This leads to the following final standings for season 2:
    1. FTW: 48,6
    2. Asthereal (TO): 40,9
    3. Wrath of Pie: 38,9
    4. apple713: 33,5
    5. GoblinSmashmaster: 31,7
    6. Whoshim: 29,1
    7. Tylert: 24,1
    8. H: 20,5
    9. Ace/Homebrew: 0,5
    10. Lemon: 0,4

Bannings are added to the Google Spreadsheet, for those who care about the final banned list.

    Fun facts:
    - We ended up banning 154 cards.
    - The only fast mana accelleration card that did not get banned is Elvish Spirit Guide.
    - Tylert's Chancellor-Vial deck was the most often played deck, but only managed to get banned in the final round.
    - FTW's finish is the only clean sweep of the entire season.

Info about, and the start of, season 3 will follow shortly (hopefully today). Stay tuned!

    Re: 4 Card Blind

Welcome to SEASON THREE of 4CB - The Block Tour!

This season we will visit the regular blocks, starting with Mirage block.
Every round we play a new block, so every round is fresh and challenging.
I have decided to not add any cards from other sets. We'll have to use whatever's in the block.
Also, we won't ban any cards. Even cards that are normally banned in their block are legal.
For season points, we stick with what we did last season. No bonusses yet. Maybe next time.

Here's our schedule (note: last round is special):
Round 1: Mirage block (Mirage, Visions, Weatherlight)
Round 2: Tempest block (Tempest, Stronghold, Exodus)
    Round 3: Urza's Saga block (Urza's Saga, Urza's Legacy, Urza's Destiny)
Round 4: Mercadian Masques block (Mercadian Masques, Nemesis, Prophecy)
Round 5: Invasion block (Invasion, Planeshift, Apocalypse)
Round 6: Odyssey block (Odyssey, Torment, Judgment)
Round 7: Onslaught block (Onslaught, Legions, Scourge)
Round 8: Mirrodin block (Mirrodin, Darksteel, Fifth Dawn)
Round 9: Kamigawa block (Champions of Kamigawa, Betrayers of Kamigawa, Saviors of Kamigawa)
Round 10: Ravnica block (Ravnica:, Guildpact, Dissension)
Round 11: Time Spiral block (Time Spiral, Planar Chaos, Future Sight)
Round 12 (finale): Lorwyn & Shadowmoor block (Lorwyn, Morningtide, Shadowmoor, Eventide)

I have also created a new Google Spreadsheet for season 3. You can find it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

Round 1 of 4CB Season 3, The Block Tour, has started. This round: Mirage block (Mirage, Visions, Weatherlight)!

I have PM'ed myself my deck for round 1, so you can start sending me your decks.

DEADLINE: Wednesday the 17th of July, at 6:00AM Central European Time.
(That's my time. Pacific time it'll probably be something like Tuesday night at 9PM, so keep that in mind.)

    PLEASE NOTE:
    - The way you send your deck to me matters. Please send it in the way described below, so it doesn't cost me an hour of editing before I can post all the decks.
Please send your deck as follows: Mountain, Crystal Vein, Tremor, Suq'Ata Lancer (so with card tags around each card, and not above eachother), with your Username and 4CB S03R01 in the topic. Many of you already did this for previous rounds. Thanks a lot, this really saves me the time and hassle of copying and pasting text and tags!

After the deadline has passed, I will post all decks on the forum here, and you can start puzzling out your scores.
If you have any questions, please read the first two posts of this thread first. If you can't find the answer there, drop a message here. We'll answer a.s.a.p.

    Happy deck designing everybody!

I'm excited... although, I think it's going to be way more difficult to build something on time for each round :)

    Yup, no more recycling decks.

    Good thing there's gatherer.wizards.com.

    Re: 4 Card Blind

Mirage was the "new" set when I started playing. My first couple of packs had a Phyrexian Dreadnought and an Asmira, Holy Avenger in them.

I know what deck I want to run, but I already found 2-3 decks that beat that one...

More like scryfall.com, I gave up trying to navigate their website years ago.

It might be necessary to ban Wasteland/Ghost Quarter in their respective block formats (more so Ghost Quarter) but that is something to worry about in the future.

Ghost Quarter maybe, but I feel like we can work around even that.

Just Fyi, I have no internet at home for at least 2 4CB rounds and of course all good MTG search engines are blocked at work so I may not be able to participate in the early rounds of the competition.

Good thing you can prepare ahead of time, as all metas for the rounds are known at the start.

@Whoshim: Thanks for posting these links! I won't use them though, as the advanced version of the Gatherer has nice options, like filtering on CMC.
EDIT: Can't post handy links here though, as they use brackets, which mess up the post here on the forum. Just start here.
Then at "expansion", choose "or" and add Tempest, Stronghold and Weatherlight. Afterwards you can add stuff like CMC<=2. Things like that.

    Re: 4 Card Blind

You can do all kinds of filtering with scryfall much more quickly and easily than gatherer. I also find that the website responds faster for me than gatherer.

Advanced Search (if you need the UI): https://scryfall.com/advanced

Syntax Guide (spend a little time learning, and searching becomes a breeze): https://scryfall.com/docs/syntax

    For example, typing

    f:pauper b:rtr c:b cmc>2 t:instant

returns every pauper legal card from the Return to Ravnica block that is a black instant of cmc>2.

I was clicking around in there and didn't see the options I wanted.

Try something like a public library.

(Guessing there are phone apps as well for searching purposes.)

About 20 hours until the deadline for round one, and I'm at just 2 entries.
I thought this was one of the easier rounds. Guess not?

EDIT: a little over 12 hours until the deadline, and we're at 4 now. We're gonna get there.

    Re: 4 Card Blind

Asthereal results for season 3, round 1 (Mirage, Visions, Weatherlight):

    1. Asthereal (TO): that's me, with combo, because I can. Plus Chronatog as support, which may have been wrong... Teferi's Isle, Chronatog, Phyrexian Dreadnought, Vision Charm
    2. Wrath of Pie: You cannot stop the Dreadnought. 6-0
    3. Whoshim: Boomerang stops Dreadnought, Gatekeeper stops Chronatog, two draws I guess. 2-2
    4. GoblinSmashmaster: You cannot stop the Dreadnought (I discard Chronatog to Charm, if I have to). 6-0
    5. FTW: In the mirror, Boomerang is the better support card. 0-6
    6. H: You cannot stop the Dreadnought. 6-0

    Total: 20 points
