As promised, i won't play this round.
Normally, i'll have internet at home next week :)
If your strategy is to sit out till Mirrodin for Aether Vial, I hope you realize there are no Chancellors or Spirit Guides in that block :(

Asthereal results for round 2:
1. Asthereal (TO): that's me, sporting Wasteland, City of Traitors, Ensnaring Bridge, Scalding Tongs
2. Whoshim: You can stop me from dropping Bridge, so I have to cast Tongs first, which only wins the race OTP. 3-3
3. FTW: OTP I drop Tongs first and win. OTD you can win by dropping Tongs first or by Coercioning away my Tongs. 3-3
4. GoblinSmashmaster: I win the mirror because I win the race, as you lose two life from Ancient Tomb. 6-0
5. Wrath of Pie: I drop Tongs first. If you use Peel on me, you can't win anymore, so I just discard Bridge or Waste. 6-0
6. H: Cool tech, but I have a non-creature wincon and you have no answer to Bridge. 6-0
Total: 24 points. Not bad. Still, should have played a basic over Wasteland.

FTW: City of Traitors, Lotus Petal, Coercion, Scalding Tongs
1. Asthereal (TO): OTP my Tongs wins the race. OTD your Tongs wins the race. WL 3-3

4. GoblinSmashmaster: OTP and OTD my Tongs wins the race because of Ancient Tomb damage. WW 6-0
5. Wrath of Pie: OTP I Coercion your Swamp and you can't cast anything. OTD if you Peel me I discard Coercion and if you Peel yourself I Coercion Reanimate. WW 6-0
6. H: OTP I Coercion your City or Bounty Hunter. OTD your creature wins the race. WL 3-3
21 points (7 wins, 3 losses)
T1 Coercion is a great play (it can even take basic lands!), but because so many people ran Wasteland I couldn't afford to leave my City exposed.
H: Bounty Hunter, Lotus Petal, Lotus Petal, City of Traitors
1. Asthereal (TO): Wasteland, City of Traitors, Ensnaring Bridge, Scalding Tongs
Can't beat Bridge. 0-6
2. Whoshim: Swamp, Wasteland, Diabolic Edict, Lab Rats
Can't beat Edict. 0-6
3. FTW: City of Traitors, Lotus Petal, Coercion, Scalding Tongs
Lose to Coercion on the Draw, win the race on the Play. 3-3
4. GoblinSmashmaster: Ancient Tomb, Wasteland, Ensnaring Bridge, Scalding Tongs
Still can't beat Bridge. 0-6
5. Wrath of Pie: Swamp, Mind Peel, Reanimate, Verdant Force
Pretty sure I win this on the Play, since I can get rid of any creatures with enough time. On the Draw, it would be the same, but Mind Peel can force a draw by targeting me. 4-1
6. H: Bye, myself.
Looks like 7 to me.

5. Wrath of Pie: Swamp, Mind Peel, Reanimate, Verdant Force 3-3 Confirmed
6. H: Bounty Hunter, Lotus Petal, Lotus Petal, City of Traitors 6-0 Confirmed
21 points.
Wrath of Pie, I almost played the deck you did. Then I took the coward's way and just made a reactive deck. I am not sad that Verdant Force beat me, though I wish this site would display the old art.

Yeah, this is something that bothers me as well.
The card tags should display the card as it was first printed.
This might end up confusing people though, as newer version might have newer ruling text.
Anyway, this was a smooth round. I'll create a deck fast, so we can start the round a.s.a.p.
I'll also update everything as soon as I get to it.
Might be a tad slow, as it's record-breaking hot here in NL.

I almost submitted that deck too (with Verdant Force). Then I decided turn 2 combo was too easy to stop in this block and went for disruption instead.
I'm surprised no one ran Sphere of Resistance! Coercion would have been better as Sphere or Ensnaring Bridge, I think. I picked Tongs specifically to win around Bridge, but didn't expect so many Scaling Tongs mirrors!

Round 3 of 4CB Season 3, The Block Tour, has started. This round: Urza's Saga block (Urza's Saga, Urza's Legacy, Urza's Destiny)!
I have PM'ed myself my deck for round 3, so you can start sending me your decks.
DEADLINE: Wednesday the 31st of July, at 10:00AM Central European Time.
(That's my time. Pacific time it'll probably be something like Tuesday late at night, so keep that in mind.)
PLEASE NOTE:
- The way you send your deck to me matters. Please send it in the way described below, so it doesn't cost me an hour of editing before I can post all the decks.
Please send your deck as follows: Forest, Elvish Lyrist, Wild Dogs, Rancor (so with card tags around each card, and not above eachother), with your Username and 4CB S03R03 in the topic. Many of you already did this for previous rounds. Thanks a lot, this really saves me the time and hassle of copying and pasting text and tags!
After the deadline has passed, I will post all decks on the forum here, and you can start puzzling out your scores.
If you have any questions, please read the first two posts of this thread first. If you can't find the answer there, drop a message here. We'll answer a.s.a.p.
Happy deck designing everybody!
