Problem is, it only stalemates things since it has Defender, not to mention it costs more than True-Name itself.
Some janky reprints so far include River Kelpie, Ghostly Prison, Prismatic Strands and Ral Zarek.

809.3c A player can attack only an opponent seated immediately next to them.
So if the emperor played it, one of their players wouldn't be able to attack (because they can only attack a player in the chosen direction, which would be their emperor), and one opponent sitting as far away from the first player would also not be able to attack. (For the same reason) If a general played it, they would restrict the attack of the Emperors and cutoff either themselves or the general sitting across from them.
If a general has been eliminated it gets more complicated, but I think you can figure it out from here.
So, if R plays it and Right is chosen:
X E Y
A R B
X can still attack A, the player immediately to their right.
E is outside R's influence, so no changes.
Y can only attack E, their Emperor (not recommended)
A can only attack R, their Emperor (Still not recommended)
R can only attack B, their general (Recommended only while comboing off)
B can only attack Y.
Meh, not terrible...

I want to say that this card is kinda just worse than the Hexproof, First Strike Narset from Khans block.
Edit: found it; Narset, Enlightened Master

So far, M20 has better commanders than this commander set.
I like these guys better than the m20 ones. They’re more niche, and actually require some amount of building around and have unique effects that make for interesting deck archetypes.
The m20 ones are just sledgehammers. Good and powerful, sure. But leads to uninteresting decks

Legacy decks: mono U painter, strawberry shortcake, imperial painter, solidarity, burn
EDH decks: zedruu voltron, rakdos the defiler, persistent petitioners, blind seer
Maybe it's just because I play Rhys, but I kind of like this card. Not going to be in my deck though, because it isn't foil though.
Creature - Kor Soldier
Vigilance
T, Sacrifice Cliffside Rescuer: Target permanent you control gains protection from each opponent until end of turn.
Reprints of Garruk, Primal Hunter, Feldon of the Third Path, Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, Angel of Sanctions, and Lightning Greaves.

There have been some ok ones, like I thought the whole Partner run was good, and the four-colour commanders were too, but now they seem to be grasping for ideas a bit. There are basically just tribal decks for certain mechanics, rather than being genuinely interesting commanders that offer lots of interesting play options.
@Doomed Artisan: What's the point? Sac fodder? Killing the Artisan once you've amassed enough statues?
@Cliffside Rescuer: A shame you need to tap it. Vigilance with no evasion and bear stats is no bueno, either. At least it can be fetched with Recruiter.
Elsha of the Infinite is more like Magus of the Future - it's not limited to four cards per turn or by an attack trigger. Narset doesn't combo with Thought Lash or have silly interactions with Salvage effects.
Were I to run it in my Rhys the Redeemed deck, yes, the idea would be to have the Artisan make a couple tokens, use Rhys to make more, then Skullclamp the Artisan away.

Man, they are really out to jack-up my foiled deck now...
Meh, that's not real exciting, but I guess it makes you able to make a "political" combat based deck.

Hey Skullclamp's new EDH best friend.
Meh, not exciting.
Not even sure what to make of this. Might be interesting for EDH...

Deathtouch is neat, ability is neat, CMC is a little high though.
Meh, at best you draw, what? 2-3 cards? Harmonize is probably just better.
Close to good, if only it wasn't 3 to activate, I think...

Neat, but Mass Polymorph Exiles, so it wouldn't trigger Atla.
Mirror Entity plus something like Ashnod's Altar would work though. Actually, I'm dumb, you could also just activate Entity for 0.
