Since no one on the Death and Taxes thread has posted anything on the new Lurrus WW deck that is sweeping the meta, let's put this here. Maybe it hasn't been mentioned because one could argue that this isn't a D&T deck or people are just too traumatized by Lurrus, but let's give the deck some attention. Also, I am not claiming credit for this build. (just the name) The deck appeared here: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles...acy-adaptation piloted by "MM-17". I also haven't had a chance to actually play the deck but I think there should be a discussion while we wait to see a Lurrus ban.
1 Lurrus of the Dream-Den
3 Giver of Runes
3 Isamaru, Hound of Konda
3 Kytheon, Hero of Akros
4 Leonin Arbiter
3 Mother of Runes
4 Phyrexian Revoker
4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
2 Tomik, Distinguished Advokist
4 Mox Amber
4 Lotus Petal
3 Smuggler's Copter
1 Eiganjo Castle
4 Ghost Quarter
3 Plains
4 Snow-Covered Plains
4 Swords to Plowshares
3 Karakas
4 Wasteland
SB:
1 Containment Priest
2 Council's Judgment
1 Deafening Silence
1 Drannith Magistrate
1 Ethersworn Canonist
2 Grafdigger's Cage
1 Leonin Relic-Warder
3 Path to Exile
1 Remorseful Cleric
1 Seal of Cleansing
I've seen another list that plays 2 Toolcraft Exemplar removing 2 Revokers. I would be very interested in putting a couple Hushbringers. Perhaps those are too "taxing" and not aggro enough. I'd also be sad running a list without a Jitte or two.
What do people think about this?

I've been calling this deck Lurrus and Taxes, because one of the things you can't escape in life is facing Lurrus in a Legacy event (and this taxes them).
Why Hushbringer? Is Yorion Snowko that bad a match? The worst matchups are probably Stompy decks. Hushbringer does have text against TKS and Matter Reshaper, but it also dies to their bodies and has no text against Chalice, 3sphere or Moons.
For Turbo Gyruda you can just StP/PtE the Gyruda instead of trying to play Torpor Orb.
Fair points on Hushbringer. I like the card (but I've been playing a bunch of Pioneer lately) and looking for a place to play it in Legacy.
I'd also wonder about adding some redundancy to the deck. Would playing something like Brought Back or Second Sunrise help getting Lurrus (and something else) back if it gets blowed up? Or is this turning the deck too mid-rangy.
I ask that question to get to this: If Lurrus goes to the graveyard and comes back later in your turn, can the ability be used again?

Hate the name, love the deck.
DDD / Death & Taxes
If the deck last longer than the pending neutering of the nightmare cat, we'll change the name.
Another card I'm playing around with is Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit. I've replaced one Revoker for the extra Legendary creature. Three or four +1/+1 counters help make up for the lack of equipment.

So... with no Lurrus is this deck dead? Probably, but let's try something more aggro and see what happens.
Sticking with the restriction of < 3CC permanents with no upside is a big liability, but I'm going to tinker with this.
Thoughts?

This was a metagame deck designed to both hate out Lurrus Delver and abuse Lurrus itself. In a Lurrus-free meta there's no reason to run bad cards like Mox Amber and a curve based around 0-2. Just play regular D&T.
Keeping up with the Legendary theme, I threw in Sram and his Pioneer friends to turn this a little more aggro.
4 Mother of Runes
3 Isamaru, Hound of Konda
2 Kytheon, Hero of Akros
4 Sram, Senior Edificer
3 Phyrexian Revoker
4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
2 Tomik, Distinguished Advokist
4 Ethereal Armor
4 Gryff's Boon
4 All That Glitters
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Mox Amber
11 Plains
3 Karakas
4 Wasteland
When it works, it really works. It's very easy to have a 6 power creature attacking on round 2. Not sure if Mom should stay, but I'm not going overboard testing this out.
