Sanctum of Stone Fangs + Hoden of Infinite Rage can create a pretty quick clock? Including Sanctum of Tranquil light you might have a fun deck
That's 4 damage a turn without any other shrines. That isn't exactly quick.

There's no way to copy those shrines without the legendary clause, right? Creatures have several clone variants that can do that, but I don't think there are any for enchantments.

Not that Nine Lives will see much play, but probably not the healthiest wording when the entire point of a color [red] is to deal multiple damage with single spells. Red already can barely touch white enchantments anyhow...Another example of problematic wording/design that DRS’s maindeck presence would have helped marginalize right out of the gates.

It's a fast clock if you're playing something that is non-combat oriented. There is another new Sanctum that lets you pay 1 and discard a land or shrine that allows you to deal damage = shrines, so kind of like Molten Vortex. Add Life from the Loam and Commune with the Gods and you have the beginnings of Jund Shrine Stompy (with chalice of the void, of course!)

Also, this card is interesting: Kruphix's Insight

Well, I guess we know why they put the Hondens in the Historic collection for Arena now.

whenever you’re playing that many artifacts, cut 2 and replace with 2 Karn at a bare minimum.

Working way to hard with do-nothing like Solemnity, hide the effect in the manabase or off Living Wish with Nesting Grounds. Too easy to exploit braindead design of Hexproof over the vastly more appropriate Shroud - you should not be able to reset nonsense like this with Teferi...

Its still on color, hits creatures/PWs, ups shrine count and gets rid of extra lands/legendary shrine in hand. Hopefully they release more 2 cmc shrines.

While Nine Lives could be good in a vacuum, it makes you even weaker to storm decks:
-Reverent Silence "0: win the game"
-Grapeshot - now lethal off Storm 9
-Empty the Warrens for 10 1/1 Goblins is a 1-hit kill
    -Tendrils of Agony - RTFC

Right? Receiving damage and losing life being treated as mechanically different is something that should have been done away a long time ago IMO. It's one of the few instances I can think of where Magic's pedantry does more harm than good.

True, but Enchantress is already unfavored like 92 to 8 vs. Storm. You're just dead to any decent hand barring a lucky lock piece into a second lucky lock piece and all their answers being on the bottom.

Depths could be a sideboard plan, but I it doesn't jive with Bridge (which would be super important to buy extra turns to durdle with the shrines.)

This distinction adds more interaction to the game and acts as a safety valve when we don't ban the only generically playable black 1-drop life drainer. Simplifying rules while simultaneously printing unimaginative/overpowered/uninteractive/asymmetrical cards is reckless.

This card should have culm upkeep or intelligent wording like "if you would take dmg, add a counter, then prevent an amount of dmg (from that source) equal to number of counters on Nine Lives." Printing hexproof cards that can tank 160 dmg from Marit Lage without any mana demands...

We are not worthy of ten drils, we barely deserve the one we have.
