I've always wondered why no one put these two together in a Rec Sur deck. I did it back when Kamigawa first came out, and it was hella fun. Not particularly good (I just played a WB Reanimator) but fun, and good enough to win a few weeks in a row at the local tournament. How has it been for you Tao?

I've always wondered why no one put these two together in a Rec Sur deck. How has it been for you Tao?

It was quite strong. It won me Game 1 vs. Anusien in the 1/4 final. It also won against Lukas in the semis, but that game would have been mine even without Yosei. I am still not sure if Yosei is needed in the MD, but so far I am satisfied.

Why no Great Whale?

This is a control deck and not a Combo deck. For me it is very important to be able to cast every spell in the deck. But Great Whale or Palinchron only work with an active Survival and an active Nightmare. Therefore they are "win more" too often.
