And some blue duals lying around. I need to crack some of the remaining PSA graded ones left in my boxes.

But it makes it super rarer. Isn't that a good thing?

But if he signs everything put infront of him, eventually your super rare Beta Sea that's signed isn't as cool cause every other cat with a super rare Beta Sea has one that's signed too.

If you produce too much of something it doesn't make it any more valuable, usually it makes it worth less. That's not counting the people who would flat call it defaced and worthless for having a signature on it despite being an otherwise Minty Beta Sea.

I personally don't give that much about artist signed cards. Especially when it comes to jap. foils I'd much rather have unsigned cards.

Regardless, I think getting legendary pros like Budde or Finkel (or Bob Maher on Bob) to sign your cards is WAY more pimp.
The seven cardinal sins of Legacy:
    1. Discuss the unbanning of Land Tax Earthcraft.
    2. Argue that banning Force of Will would make the format healthier.
    3. Play Brainstorm without Fetchlands.
    4. Stifle Standstill.
    5. Think that Gaea's Blessing will make you Solidarity-proof.
    6. Pass priority after playing Infernal Tutor.
    7. Fail to playtest against Nourishing Lich (coZ iT wIlL gEt U!).

I was joking but I was actually referring to the unsigned alpha/beta duals as being "rarer" the more Alexander signs them. Which is a good thing for the purist collector (unless he's in the market as a buyer). Even then, he's paying a premium price for a premium item.

That is an obscene amount of expensive lands. What is the point?

It's called metagaming: you buy everything so noone in your meta can play real decks.

I can't believe you bought those recently at full retail. What I mean is, there's almost no way you bought those within the past, say, 6 months unless you mortgaged your house. When did you pick most of them up?

Impressive, to say the least. I don't actually have the income to compete with something like that.

Feel like spreading the love to me? All that unsigned goodness needs sharing. *Assembles SWAT team outside of Grandeur's house*

grandeur84 I would love to say you won the thread, but they could be Korean, Crimped, and Miscut. Good effort though.

On a more serious note, I do think that, while it is really nice, it is some what bland, I'm most impressed by crazy miscuts/misprints or absurdly rare (read Summer). All grandeur84 did was drop a ton of cash, people like Occam and Ben Carp have to find those nice cards. That must be insanely hard to do.

Even if you wave cash, try to find that many Seas, Trops, Tundras, and Volcs. I bid you good luck.

Quite a number of people have tons of cash lying around to buy rare stuffs. Don't be surprised.

When did you pick most of them up?
Started picking them up when the japanese foil craze started about 6-7 years ago, ranging from $150+ to $300. A few months ago, a few people emailed me saying they were offering $400 per delta, and they wondered why I wouldn't sell them for these kind of good prices, saying another dealer would sell them if he had them. Look at the price of delta right now a few months later, at least $600 right now.

Maybe I underestimated how much disposable income the average Magic player has :P

Well, add my name in then. Tons of rarities & misprints are residing in my album too. Bought a bit from the people in the same field of interest, and sold quite a bit to others too, the rest I had to source for it myself through the years. Just a little to satisfy your appetite.

Sold these cool stuffs a couple of months ago to another collector.

I don't know how much is actually disposable. For example, the reason we haven't seen all of grandeur84 shit before is that there was an electricity bill that was converted into lands instead. He then learned he can't tap blue duals for electricity, quickly went to kinkos, scanned them all, sold them, and shared the pictures with us. Which he can now do because of the aforementioned electricity bill being paid.

    EDIT:

Dude you have some sick miscuts. That Edict is insane. Why don't you post your Summer cards (I remember from a while back that you had a bunch of them, including Apes).

Well, underestimated the disposable income a decent collector has only I guess.

Maybe my next post will be a scan of the more hardcore high end summer (I hope, when I'm not lazy to scan them in finally).

    Hurricane
    Mana Vault
    Demonic Tutor
    Sol Ring
All 9 duals including playset of Taigas & 2 Savannahs & 2 Plateaus
    Playset of Dark Ritual
    Playset of Swords to Plowshares
Splendid Genesis (managed to find 1 last month)

I'll leave with something nice that isn't misprinted or summer

i always enjoy grandeur84's stuff (no s, stuff is an uncountable noun)
    especially the foreign language foil

i also enjoy the bitchiness that this thread brings out in people
