This whole discussion of what is pimp and what is not kinda frustrates me. For some months now I´ve been pimping my DDFT and am quite proud of it. Thing is: I do like japanese cards but I just hate foils! As defined by the most people here this seems to be not pimped... therefore: no pics

I repeat this every ... I dunno, but it's not the first time I said it. There's a difference between making your deck look pretty and pimping out (note: I think pics of pretty decks also belong in this thread). Making your deck look pretty is in the eye of the beholder. Pimping out is flat-out going for the most ridiculous obscene-costing cards which you start regretting ever to have purchased them about 10 minutes after you've done that. Summer edition is a good example for pimp: the cards are butt-ugly and extremely expensive. It absolutely makes no sense to buy these cards, you have to be really bonkers to spend your hard-earned cash on this. Or you're an actual pimp (or something similar) and the money you spend isn't that hard-earned.
I'd like to post come of my crap, but I'm at work and generally too lazy to upload my shit. However I will repost my custom altered playmat here for reference (I also posted it in the altered art thread, so sorry if you have to look at it again).
The mat alone costed me 15 euros. The altering of it was 60 euros (which is cheap for a job this big). However that's still 75 euros on a playmat I don't even really need. Just as an example of doing dumb shit with money. I don't have that many regrets about it though, because I'm nuts

I agree with PaRa. Unfortually douchebags like lorddotm scare away people from this thread. You don't need a foiled/betaed out deck to post.
Fren; I would post the deck if I were you. People are always going to talk shit for a number of reasons. There was an all Japanese Merfolk deck posted a few pages back that was very nice. The majority of it was non foil and he actually used Japanese Tempest Wastelands instead of those Fisher Price DCI Foil Wastelands.

I took a bunch of crap from people probably a while ago for posting one of my decks that was in English nonfoil, original printings. Many hated, but some liked it. It doesn't matter what some people think. Some people hate foils, so why would I pimp in foil?

I beg to differ. Pimp doesn't have to be the most expensive, I think it has to look good. DCI Foil anything is basically crap to me, as is foil. I agree pimp is about being flashy, I agree. I think you're thinking of it like lowering a car and adding hydraulics with new metallic paint and a mural because you can afford it, whereas I'm just putting a nice set of wheels on it. Not that I can't buy flashy, I just don't want to. But, I think looking good is the key.

My god, I do not think that nice looking decks are only Jap foil/Beta. Please calm down. My deck is all English Foil, with only like 5 Foreign foils.
I will post my deck once I get my LEDs, Duals, and Orim's Chants fixed. Right now, they are all at the ugliest possible versions.

The list seems suboptimal, less than 3 Jace seems wrong. That card is good.
I can grant you that. I tend to prefer less decree more jace but its an older picture so meh.
The list I've been goofing around with doesn't run Elspeth, she seems worse than Decree, which all seem worse than Jace, but 4 Jace seems like too many. SO i just rock 3 Jace, 1 Decree.
