also, jap-foil snow-covered plains? are you serious? what are foil(english) snow-basics worth? i can never find any. I'd like to get some for EDH but my searches always turn up nothing and i gave up a long time ago

Yes I am serious about the jap-foil snow- covered plains. they are worth more then more then they should be and I also have a hard time finding them. i have only found 9 in about 10 months of searching but they are easy to find compared to the jap-foil Scrying Sheets. I have only found 1 in that amount of time and it was way more then i should have payed for it.

I disagree, to each their own I suppose. Most alters are just terrible anyway.

For what it is worth a lot of my Korean cards are White Boardered - the P9 looks very fitting next to those, other Mint Unlimited staples/Edgar, not to mention in 10x better condition than most.

I figured a lot of people would cry foul, it's getting pretty old; especially when all they do is post Jap Foil (so original), Beta so beat up they might as well be Unlimited, or shitty alters with garbage all over them - alas that's just my opinion.

A beat up card is nowhere close to pimp even if it's summer magic or w/e. So yes Mint Unlim P9 pieces are definitely nice and yes Jap foil is nowhere close to pimp.

That being said pimp is about personal taste first and foremost so there's nothing to blame in white bordered cards (nor in any kind of "pimp"). So yes this totally invalidate my last statement about jap foil.

The two ONLY things that must be mandatory for pimp is a certain level of scarcity and the card condition (NM or better).

Pimp is very much in the eye of the beholder. Even stuff that's a little played is still considered pimp. My idea of pimp happens to be the blackborder version of the picture I like on the card. Most of my decks are all English nonfoil blackborder, or German nonfoil.

Example, Mishra's Factory. I love the AQ version to death, so I have ten of them. Are they all NM? Not all of them. Is it super pimp? I think so.
