Most of it you have to do yourself! Or if you ask nicely some people with help you with getting them. Usually if you do that it's nice to ship them alittle extra for doing it.
Unless you give your cards to get signed at Gencon to a lazy twat like me who goes off to a conference and leaves them sitting at home until today when I finally mailed them out ...

My project is to get my foiled out goblins all signed now and I'm nervous about sending a playset of foil matrons or such in the mail. Maybe I'll just take the chance. Thanks guys.

I personally hate altered cards unless they are by the original artist. They are automatically in poor condition if offered in trade. Altered and FTV I don't think should be able to be used to sanctioned tournament play either.
Why FTV?
They are actually thicker than normal foils.
