    Technicality: MaskNaught and Oath were terrible decks in 1.5. Remember that Forbidden Orchard didn't even exist yet.

    Actually, the only deck that resembled Vintage-style degeneracy in 1.5 was Mud, and Dragon kept that deck in check. Dragon was definitely the best deck, but not significantly, and it folded to numerous forms of hate, making it a bad choice a lot of the time, depending on the meta. 1.5 was a fun format. Mana Drain and Bazaar and Recruiter weren't overpowered, although they probably would be by Legacy power levels, which are a bit lower. Still, the cost was prohibitive enough to make nuking the money cards a good decision.

    Illusionary Mask is still awful, but since it's unviable and ridiculously expensive, I don't mind it being banned so much.
