Great tournament and turnout everyone. Glad to see a fairly diverse meta although quite a bit of Goyf Sligh o.O. I'll post a tournament report later and mad props to PR for signing my Standstills. h4x, I managed to take 3rd horrible matchup in T4 against Rock.

Yeah, that deck was a BEATING.dec for Goyf Sligh. Stupid lifegaining elephants. Fat Doran ass.

Profane Command was a house too - when you played it right!

Anyway, I didn't even realize that a Dragon Stompy made T8, much less won the thing! Good for DragonStompy - I like that deck.

edit - I have two favorite tournament moments:

1. 3rd game against DragonStompy. I'm stuck under Trini and Chalice for 1. I have 3 lands (1 forest and 2 mountains) and finally top deck a Grip. He swings in with a hellbent Pit-Dragon which will probably win it for him. Stupid double-strike. I Grip the Trini and sac 2 mountains to Fireblast the Dragon. It's still looking damn grim for me but he fails to draw a threat for EVER. I enventually draw more land and a Shattering Spree. I kill the Chalice and poop out a Fanatic and 2 Grims but he top decks a Keg. Grumble. I get in 5 damage before he wipes my board; unfortunately, for him I have 3 bolts to finish the game.

2. Round 6, game 3 against Ichorid (Bane of the Living). He mullies to five and starts with a Chalice for 0 to pwn my Crypt. I have a Crypt in hand already so I Shattering Spree his Chalice. It was the first time all day that I played Shattering Spree without Replicate. I play my Crypt and the one I just top-decked.

Props:

• JimP - for Icequaking a Snow-Covered Island and cackling like a madman.
• Rift Bolt
• JP - for losing Eva Green and playing Goblins instead.
• JP - for T8ing in Mass 3 times in a row (two time going 4-0 in Swiss) and not having to be a ForceofWill about it

Slops:

• Chill - after I Shattering Spree a Dreadnought and Grip a Counterbalance
• Extended decks that pwn Goyf Sligh.
• Norm - for refusing to play Rift Bolt and losing the mirror because of it
• Eva Green for convincing JP it was good. Props to us for convicing him otherwise.

@ Teeniebopper - Thanks man. This is the first time I have picked up goblins since Foodchain took a dump on the rotation. Sims PMed me your list with Goyf which I think is seriously fucking strong and I wanted to play it but didn't have my cards with me to make it happen. Perhaps next time.

I would just like to post about how enjoyable a tournament this was. Being in California for college means I'm not in the Northeast as much as I'd like for magic so this was my first Hadley tournament. The prize support was great, the store was clean, the tournament was well-run, and the store owner seems committed to giving the players a great experience. I would like to personally thank him here for holding 3 Arc-Sloggers for me when I called the day before the tournament, without which my deck would not have been complete. When I'm back in the Northeast I will attend as many of these as I can and I would suggest everyone else do the same.
