    Rakdos Sacrifice Oven in Legacy (BR)

    In standard we have very funy combo deck. It is based on this cards:

    Witch's Oven + Cauldron Familiar + Mayhem Devil

    In this deck you are cooking cats in oven to generate food which allows you to reanimate this cats and btw. some devils spreading damage to targets you want. Pure evil...

    Playing this gives a lot of fun, not for opponet of course. Let's look on the good list 1/470:
    https://mtgdecks.net/Standard/rakdos...mernaut-957982

    Is it playable in Legacy? Maybe it could be but form had to be little changed.
    We could try to use good Hogaak list a a base (how much cards of type use, etc. and add cards from standard wisely in this template). As a template I will use this:
    https://www.mtgtop8.com/event?e=24620&d=372214&f=LE (1/73 players).

    So after merge we could construct list like this:

    Lands:

    4x Badlands
    4x Bloodstained Mire
    1x Blast Zone
    2x Castle Locthwain
    1x Maze of Ith
    2x Polluted Delta
    2x Mountain
    3x Swamp

    Artifacts:

    4x Witch's Oven
    0x Altar of Dementia (it has to be tested, but in this build I didn't find place for it).

    Creatures:

    4x Cauldron Familiar
    3x Carrion Feeder
    3x Gravecrawler
    4x Bloodghast

    0x Cabal Therapist - he is probably good here. But it's topic to discuss how much copies we should add and for what?

    2x Priest of Forgotten Gods
    2x Fiend Artisan

    4x Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger
    0x Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis

    4x Mayhem Devil
    2x Judith, the Scourge Diva

    2x Rankle, Master of Pranks

    Spells:

    4x Faithless Looting
    3x Cabal Therapy

    Sideboard

    3x Leyline of the Void
    3x Pharika's Libation - Diabolic Edict ++
    3x Angrath's Ramapge
    3x Dreadbore
    2x Thoughtseize
    1x Cabal Therapy
    0x Claim the Firstborn
    0x Act of Treason

    What do you think? How we could introduce new archetype into Legacy? :D

    Goblin Bombardment decks are just completely better for this kind of playstyle.

    Yeah. The Standard deck is just a powered down imitation of Aristocrats, Melira and Zombardment decks that have already existed in older formats for a long time.

    Witch's Oven + Cauldron Familiar is just 1 ping per turn. Devil just adds 1 more. That's very limiting. The tap cost is too slow for Legacy. For comparison, with 3 cards you could have Carrion Feeder+Melira, Sylvok Outcast+Murderous Redcap= infinite pings in 1 turn. That was strong in Modern but still isn't good enough for Legacy.

    Rakdos Oven in Legacy would probably be Lurrus Zombardment.
    Zombardment doesn't try to go infinite either, but it grinds out value more efficiently than the Witch's Oven combo can.

    //Lands: 20
    2 Karakas
    1 Undiscovered Paradise
    4 Bloodstained Mire
    4 Marsh Flats
    1 Arid Mesa
    3 Badlands
    2 Scrubland
    2 Swamp
    1 Mountain

    //Creatures: 19
    4 Stitcher's Supplier
    4 Gravecrawler
    3 Carrion Feeder
    4 Bloodghast
    2 Tidehollow Sculler
    2 Goblin Cratermaker

    //Spells: 17
    4 Cabal Therapy
    3 Thoughtseize
    4 Faithless Looting
    4 Swords to Plowshares
    2 Lingering Souls

    //Enchantments: 4
    1 Dead Weight
    3 Goblin Bombardment

    //Companion: 1
    1 Lurrus of the Dream-Den
    //Sideboard: 14
    2 Zealous Persecution
    2 Surgical Extraction
    1 Cling to Dust
    1 Tormod's Crypt
    2 Wear // Tear
    1 Abrade
    3 Hymn to Tourach
    1 Dread of Night
    1 Silent Gravestone

    I'd start with something like that and tweak from there.

    Lurrus is a huge boost to this deck:
    -loops Dead Weight as recurring removal
    -loops Goblin Cratermaker as recurring removal
    -loops Tidehollow Sculler in combination with a sac outlet (Bombardment or Carrion Feeder) to permanently exile cards
    -recurs dead Bombardments, Feeders and other pieces
    -Stitcher's Supplier and Faithless Looting now dig you into cards that can be recurred with Lurrus, acting even more as draw engines

    You're already vulnerable to grave hate and running a low curve. Lurrus fits so well.

    Maybe there's room for some Mishra's Bauble too.

    Seal of Cleansing might be a little better than Wear//Tear because Lurrus though?

    Re: Rakdos Sacrifice Oven in Legacy (BR)

    Wear // Tear (instead of more artifact kill) was to answer enchantments like Rest in Peace and Leyline of the Void. Unfortunately Seal gets exiled to those before it kills them, so I don't know if Seal is better. Wear//Tear is a potential 2-for-1 instant and can kill Leyline for 1 mana.

    Seal of Cleansing does seem better than Disenchant or Shenanigans though.

    Maindeck Cratermaker seems amazing as a mixed Seal of Fire/Seal of Cleansing (on artifacts) that also kills Eldrazi. Maybe deserves more copies.

    Mayhem Devil does some things in Legacy that it doesn’t do in Standard and that Goblin Bombardment doesn’t do in Legacy. Turning fetchlands, including your opponent’s fetchlands, into pings is pretty cool. “Whenever anybody sacrifices anything, do X” is different from, and often better than, “Sacrifice a creature: do X.”

    3cc is so much, though.

    Yeah Mayhem Devil does have some added utility. Can't say the same about Oven combo itself, but Devil as a standalone piece isn't bad.

    But this...

    3cc was already a steep cost before, in a format with Daze and Wasteland and Rishadan Port. Now in Lurrus.meta you need a really good reason to run a 3cc permanent. Even Oko is seeing less play.

    Zombardment was already a fringe deck. The only reason to consider it now is Lurrus (which doesn't work with Devil). Otherwise you just play Hogaak.
