same card twice in the same pack

A very simple question : is it possible to get two copies of the same card in a single booster pack ? or is it somehow prevented when the pack is constituted ?

Forgive my ignorance, I might have only bought a dozen or so booster pakcs, and they mostly date from Ice Age/Mirage-era, so I wouldn't know / remember :)

It is normally impossible, for as far as i know, barring misprints and having foil. It is possible to have the same card twice, once foil and once non-foil.

Not normally - the cards are taken from print runs, which prevent duplicates. However, foils are added randomly in booster packs, so it's possible to get a regular copy of a card as well as a foil one.

It is not supposed to happen, but it does happen. I have seen it around a dozen times.

I does happen but it's not very common. I have seen 3 copies of a card in a sealed deck, 1 foil and 2 non-foil...

Although if someone "saw it happen around a dozen times", it seems that there are a lot of errors in the system. I understand the occasional "all ponders" or "something else" error, but if you've seen it that much, then it's not that uncommon. Unless of course you've witnessed gigantic numbers of packs being opened :confused:

Na, just local drafts. Some people have suspected the store opener of opening and resealing packs which could have something to do with it, not sure through.
