Legacy Counter Burn

I was thinking about building a fun deck for legacy and plus my friend wasn't using his red/blue duals so i came up with a kinda cool deck i've wanted to build since i was playing standard infinite lava spike haha.

It's utilizes burn spells with counter-top/counter backup, and with the cheap burn spells and cantrips it seems it might actually work.

I've got a decklist in my head but i wanted to get some suggestions from the loving and adoring crowd of the source.

Here is what i got in my head:

Lands:
3 flooded strand
2 polluted delta
1 bloodstained mire
4 volcanic islands
3 wasteland
3 mishra's factory
2 island
1 mountain


Spells:
4 brainstorm
4 ponder
4 force of will
3 counterbalance
2 counterspell
3 sensei's divining top
4 fire/ice
4 lightning bolt
4 chain lightning
4 magma jet
3 flame rift
2 vendalken shackles





On a side note, i know this deck looks like shit, and i mean COMPLETE shit. I've never really built my own legacy deck and i've only been playing the format for like a few months so cut me some slack, but gimme suggestions out the ass bc i want to get this damn deck built and make it somewhat viable.

And by the end of this process if i can't get it worth a shit i'll just work on building ROFLstompy lol.

So shoot away at some suggestions.

i have so many random ideas for the deck.

like i want to try the scepter and replace the wastelands with maybe barb rings?

and add more blue shit haha. but then i wouldnt have enough burn

This Deck just runs into "Counterbalance" & "Chalice of the Void".
And thats really a problem, :cry: no outs or secondary winoption.

If you're playing blue and burn anyway, way not add the Chain/Swan.Combo:

i could put some artifact removal in the board of course and then maybe run some vexing shushers or smthn.

i really like that combo tbh i might splash it and test it.

but then i really dont want to lose counterspells bc i need some sort of backup then it would be burn with cantrips

Improvements really depend on the meta.
if you are facing many agro decks (gobbos, ww, pump kinghts etc.) youll need to maximise the amount of damage every speel does. basically get sweepers, Pyroclasm and friends.
some Bounce (echoing truth) wouldnt hurt either against warrens o bridge combo.
But those are actually more SB tech than anythin. I agree about the scepter idea.
Back in the day there wa a very clunky como deck that used:
Reins of power+Dracoplasm. Saked all his creatures to Gobling Bombardment, attacked you with yours and sacked the to cast a giant monster.

Man that deck sucked, but was really flashy.

yeah my deck is mostly gay blue stuff with goyf and shackles win con, and i hate blue but i want to try it out in a fun way, not some long ass control game.

man, if you want to carry on on the UR version-deck, why you don't play a deck that's funnier than hell ? I 'm talking about dragonauts combo ! This dekc can go off turn 4, and it's very funny, seriously. The goal is to burn oppo and pump you Wee Dragonauts so they can become 11/3 fliers easily. I post you a list of mine, which gave me REALLY a lot of fun :

As you can se,, there's also another way to combo off, by the quiet sp-> lava darts- EtW way ( perhaps, stifle can be replaced by mystical tutor). I used to play this deck on mws, and gave me lots of satisfaction, even against threshold , while it sucks against discard ( pox, pikula..). I hope that you will take into consideration ! :laugh:

Yeah im actually probably gonna build that deck and run it haha.

It looks like fun and thats what i've been needing lately.

And like everyone runs blue in my meta so its kinda not much fun to play magic anymore.

But ima explode with a dragonaut and their gonna be like wtf bbq!

In UR Ive allways been a fan of board sweepers+Viashino sandstalker.
If there is a LOT of blue, Why not try the Painter/REBs deck? Countervindicate for just 1 mana must be huge!
