Can you really do that?

Phasing doesn't trigger "leaves play" events anymore.

Phasing doesn't trigger "leaves play" events anymore.

A token disappearing isn't a "leaves play" trigger, though. There's just a rule that says that a token in any zone other than in play ceases to exist:

A token in a zone other than the in-play zone ceases to exist. This is a state-based effect. (Note that a token changing zones sets off triggered abilities before the token ceases to exist.)

So if you phase it, it won't come back.

I saw that rule too. I couldnt decide if the "Phasing Zone" is one of the zones that would kill a token, cause it's weird.

EDIT: nm, found it:

217.8d Tokens in the phased-out zone cease to exist. This is a state-based effect

Huh. I think it's a little strange that they need a seperate rule to specify that tokens go away when you phase them, because the phased-out zone qualifies as a "zone other than the in-play zone", so I think it would be intuitive. But either way, you reach the same conclusion.

Yeah, like i said, it's kinda weird.

So, perhaps they can is the answer?

Can anyone with Magic online (that rules check is pretty good, I hear) try to create a token in Solitaire then use Teferi's Curse or Vision Charm on it? We could then find out what would happen.

Either, there is p.t. no solution, or I might have overseen your (Pinder and xsockmonkeyx) conclusions. I can't really tell what it is.

The above logic is 100% correct. You can phase out tokens, but they cease to exist as a State-Based Effect. Pinder and xsockmonkeyx both quoted exact rules that answer your question, so there's no need for any further confirmation.

Also, MTGO rules engine is pretty good but not definitive; if the rules say one thing and MTGO says another, the rules win in paper tournaments (and MTGO will get fixed).

There's actually no reason to doubt Pinder here. The rules say any zone other than in-play, and the Phased Out Zone is a zone other than in play. That's like saying, "I wasn't sure if Stonewood Invocation would make my creature bigger, cause it's weird." The reason 217.8d is there is to specify what happens to Auras, Equipment and Fortifications. You could probably remove that rule and Magic would still work, but it's a nice clarification/reminder.
