Alright, seeing as it's monoblack without cantrips I have no need for fetchlands.

x20 Snow Swamps

Removal and Disruption:
x4 Vendetta
x3 Diabolic Edict
x4 Hymn to Tourach
x4 Ravens Crime
x3 Rancid Earth

Acceleration/Draw:
x4 Dark Ritual
x3 Phyrexian Arena

Burn:
x4 Corrupt
x4 Pestilence

Creatures:
x4 Crypt Rats
x3 Ravenous Rats
---------

The deck attempts to destroy the opponent late game by using Corrupt for 6 onto an opponent already weakened by Pestilence/Crypt Rats. Both of those attempt to control creatures, although Edict and Vendetta help. Tourach and Crime and Ravenous hold down their hand while Rancid Earth destroys lands.

Things I've changed: Reanimation and Dredge are out in favor of more amounts of Rats and more discard. Added Phyrexian Arena for draw and the turns of lifeloss from it and Vendetta should not be a problem after Corrupt.

The Basic Curve:

Turn 1: Drop either Crime or wait for their turn when you kill the creature they drop with Vendetta. OR you Ritual into early Rats/Phyrexian Vault/Rancid Earth.

Turn 2: Tourach, Ravenous Rats, Edict.

Turn 3: Crypt Rats, Vault.

Turn 4: Nuke with rats or if they aren't out drop Pestilence.

Turn 5: Either Pestinuke or drop more discard/Rancid. The turn that is really the free turn.

Turn 6: Flip the damage you've taken setting you below them with Corrupt.

Turn 7: Finish with another Corrupt, Rats, or Pestilence.

Phyrexian Arena for draw seems like it would be an excellent addition.

Cabal Coffers might be okay to help kick up the damage, and drop the Corrupts for Drain Lifes.

Rotting Giants? Ravenous Rats? Might have some synergy there.

Zombify, Sacromancy, or some such could work in combination with your creature kill/discard to allow you to take their higher powered cards and turn them on themselves. Kill like a Gofy, rez Gofy, and then whose your buddy whose your pal.

reanimate is leagues better then raise dead, and it is a relatively cheap card (3-4$)

innocent blood/chainers edict is better then vendetta

and a straight switch from dark rit to cabal coffers is a good idea

For this kind of decks Twisted abomination is preety good, goes to the yard by itself and is a regenerative beatstick.
Shades (of any kind and price tags) are the money along a heavy black manabase, of course the nantuko variant is the best, but deep bottom, they are all quite decent at theyr job.
If you cant get Cabal Coffers, Bubbling Muck might help in between. It shure helped me.

Nantuko Shade is the ghetto version.

I realize that playing some form of attack would be useful, such as the Shade's. However, I do like sticking to my ideals, meaning that I'm tryingto avoid doing so unless it proves necessary through testing.

I also feel as though Drain Life is worse than Corrupt as Corrupt says 6 when played whereas Life says 6 for 8 mana. I do realize that Ritual can help Life, but even with it it's still 8 for 6 mana, and I'm losing one more card in card advantage.

I love the Phyrexian Arena. Helps me ensure a Rats or Pestilence and prety much a Corrupt to play on turn 6.

Also like Ravenous Rats as a card for turn 2.

Deck edited - all current edits are done in theory not based on gameplay.

x20 Snow Swamps
...
x4 Pestilence

Withering Wisps :1: :b: :b:
Enchantment
Rules Text (Oracle): At end of turn, if no creatures are in play, sacrifice Withering Wisps.
:b: : Withering Wisps deals 1 damage to each creature and each player. Play this ability no more times each turn than the number of snow Swamps you control.

Cabal Coffers+Drain

So 5x Swamp, 1x Coffer.

3 Lands to activate, 5 Floating from Coffers and 3 Lands left over to tap. 8 versus 6 by turn 6 on Corrupt. Just ends up being more damage/life gain though.

I like Wisps.
I also like Coffers it's just that I don't have a regular job so 4$ to a card takes longer to get, around a month or so after I get the meat of a deck..

Ill have to insist on Twisted Abomination, regenerative late game threat PLUS cycles for a swamp must be god in this kind of deck. Give it a try, if it doesnt work you can blame me all you want.
Also, Funeral Charm is another versatile card to play, kills weenies, extra offensive damage, instant speed discard all for only one mana, Ive played MB before, Charms are a house

Raven's Crime and Corrupt seem like they would clash agianst each other, have you had any problems with this?

Not really. I generally don't retrace until after I get 6 mana down.
Then I just take out their final spells.
