Here it is. It's still in the works. I think that a 3 nought 5 enablers is a good split. With Trinket Mage, you effectively play 6 noughts, and you only want to see one every game anyway.
As we all know, it's getting down a dreadnought and protect it. You have some counters for that. Tombstalker serves as a late-game win condition (you will not be able to cast it before turn 4 or something)
There is not that many cantrips, but Trinket Mage is a perfect tutor that fetches versatile anwers as well as Phyrexian Dreadnought. I fell in love with the mage recently.
This deck is only on theoretical basis, so I have no idea about the matchups. Landstill *should* be okay, you play a sort-of thresh shell with mana denial so that *should* be fair too, and combo is pretty favorable. Good times, except that aggro decks (yes, Ichorid is an aggro decks) probably will roll you. You have a couple of outs to a turn 1 lackey on the play, and 4 on the draw.
I don't like DreadStill, so I've chosen to try with this one instead. Don't ask me why, DreadStill just hates me too. I can't win with it, and I always lose against it. Sad but true.
As you can see, I'm puzzled whether creature removal is necessary. Our own creature is so big that we can be in no fear of opposition if we resolve it.
I assume that the deck is pretty strong, but I'm puzzled too whether I should play more actual cards or more cantrips. SDT can often find me what I find for an upkeep cost of 1.
So what do you think? Decent? Crappy?
Please help me with the
I have some questions to my own list.:
Ub over Uw?
CounterTop mainboarded?
Daze over Spell Snare?
Tormod's Crypt as a tutor target?
Stable manabase?
Snuff Out hits our curve and makes us able to stop various things. Is it worth it, or is another removal spell like Diabolic Edict better?
Is Thoughtseize important?
Is the black splash really relevant?
Splash green for Tarmogoyf?
I've also puzzled with Dreadnought Threshold, but that's another story...
