Hey all.

I hope this is okay to post here. Its a port of my T1 deck, which both I've only played online. The deck's main purpose is to avoid control somewhat, halt combo and aggro somewhat. The T1 deck had more success as it had the Moxes, Lotus and Land Tax, matched with Empyrial Plate or Armor. So as it is, I am looking to improve this deck to make it somewhat viable in Legacy.

MWA-Mono White Annoy
//Mana
17 Plains
4 Chrome Mox

//Instants or Sorceries
4 Abolish
4 Swords to Plowshares

//Artifacts
4 AEther Vial
4 Umezawa's Jitte
3 Winter Orb

//Creatures
2 Dawn Elemental
4 Glittering Lynx
4 Knight of the Holy Nimbus
3 Soltari Monk
3 Soltari Priest
4 True Believer

// Sideboard:
SB: 4 Ghostly Prison
SB: 3 Serenity
SB: 3 Tormod's Crypt
SB: 1 Rule of Law
SB: 4 Vengeful Dreams

Choices:

//Mana
Chrome Mox - instead of Mox Diamond for the sheer fact of being able to use the little land that I do have for Abolish.

//Instants
Abolish - A "free" disenchant whenever that annoying thing comes out
Swords to Plowshares - Tarmogoyf hate.

//Artifacts
Aether Vial - Most of my creatures are cheap, and this helps avoid control hopefully.
Umezawa's Jitte - Speaks for itself.
Winter Orb - Another card to help against control since hopefully my spells are cheap or free.

//Creatures
Dawn Elemental - Although slow, it helps eliminate aggro force via wings.
Glittering Lynx - Answer to Lackey, first turn, and Lightning Bolt costs three to kill.
Knight of the Holy Nimbus - I was thinking the Glittering Lion to keep up with Lynx and make a three drop, but turns out it was too expensive mana-wise. The Knight for 2 and regenerates on command.
Soltari Monk/Priest - Evasion for cheap with protection. Great with Jitte.
True Believer - Cheap and painful for combo without removal, and smooth with Aether vial.

//Sideboard
Just a mix of cards. Originally left over from T1 days with Rule of Law and Vengeful Dreams.

Anyway, I've had a few successful runs in MWS vs Aggro and a poor combo and control player (or maybe I was just AWESOME! :). But I would like some help making this deck faster and more annoying. I think it can be somewhat competitive as it has the elements to annoy most decks. But I am unproven in any tournament and I am looking to start playing competitively soon.

Thanks all for your help,

Noisome

A few sideboard ideas:

After playing a bit more I've found Ghostly Prison with Winter Orb is nice vs quick aggro.

Serenity is only nice vs Stax and Affinity if I get overwhelmed, which with Affinity I shouldn't be, but Stax I could be. I have a bit of hate vs Angel so I'm not sure if its a good matchup or bad. A turn one Trinisphere would hurt unless I play first with an Aether Vial.

Vengeful Dreams is a nice card when its a little bit later in the game and I have a dead Winter Orb, Chrome Mox, Aether Vial that I want to ditch. Its card disadvantage for me, but its board advantage hopefully, or will buy an extra turn or two.

I believe however I do have a problem with Burn decks. Although I've read here, they're not as prominent, but are still lurking around often enough to be concerned. So would a CoP: Red be in order or is there a better option for White?

Discard can break me early, but what deck would it not break with only one card in hand at Turn 1. True Believer hopefully would be able to come out turn one, and they have no "Snuff out" (yes Eva Green, that's you).

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that any deck that runs Glittering Lynx and Knight of the Holy Nimbus really wants to run Cursed Totem, either in the main or in the board

I had Cursed Totem in for Vintage, but the reason it isn't here is because there aren't too many activated creatures abilities being played in Legacy, that I know of, its all usually triggered abilities. Winter Orb was basically the replacement for it which hopefully keeps my opponent low of mana so they either play a spell or pay the cost, but not both.

While they are dealing with them, the Soltari Priest, Monk or Dawn Elemental are suppose to slip in and hit, hopefully with a Jitte on.

However though, what are the main creatures my opponent will run that Cursed Totem will help alleviate the stress?

I'm sure this list could grow exponentially, but this was just a quick run-down off the top of my head

Okay, after trying to work Cursed Totem in, I just don't see the need for it. It only helps me and rarely hurts an opponent. In this deck, a card that does both is more useful, like Winter Orb. It hurts decks that don't do aggro and is more controllish and can help vs aggro when a Ghostly Prison is on the table.

Cursed Totem, while good vs certain creatures, most decks don't run a creature with an Activated Ability, like Cloud of Faeries, Tarmogoyf, Tombstalker, Piledriver, Exalted Angel. I rarely see Welder and Morphling, although it will be useful vs Breakfast.

I would atleast put the Cursed Totem in the SB versus Elves. The manaproducing capabilities of elves overrides your Winter Orbs. That can't be too good for this deck, especially when Elves! are gaining popularity.

I think Suppression Field would be better for this sort of deck than Cursed Totem. You don't use fetches, it hits more things, it's synergistic with Winter Orb and it does something similar in combination with Lynx and Knight.

Dawn Elemental is just not a good enough card for legacy unfortunately. I would try Exalted Angel in this spot, and bump the number up to 3. And I think you should try and slot in some disruptive creatures like Glowrider to give yourself a chance against Combo and Landstill. Glowrider also has a pretty good interaction with Winter Orb.

True Believer is also pretty bad in this metagame, unlike Vintage. There just aren't a lot of things that target you, and the body is just average. This may be the spot you would want to cut for Glowrider.

I also think you might want to trim your Abolishes a bit, maybe down to 3, and throw one in the board. It seems like a decent card though, as it's easy to cast and is a good answer to Counterbalance, but you don't want to be drawing too many over the course of the game instead of the gas an aggro deck requires.

With Jitte you might also want to shave the numbers, and try experimenting with a mix of it and Sword of Fire and Ice. Drawing two is poopy when they haven't removed it and have dealt with your creatures.
