I would like to thank everyone who signed up for this tournament and giving us a amazing turnout of 77 people. Before I pair up the Top 8 I would like to collect all the decklists from each and everyone who made it past the swiss via pm. Also, each of the top 8 matches will be best of 5. Obviously their is no time limit to the top 8 matches but everyone is on their honor here to try and complete their matches ASAP. Below is a list (in no particular order) of everyone who made Top 8.

Edit: Also here are the prizes that will be awarded. I was thinking of restructuring the prize support to make it less lopsided. Ill finalize it before the top 8 starts.

The combo was awful against me. Every game he won in our matchups involved Top advantage.

Sorry it took so long, I just came back from GP Kopenhagen (where I managed to start 6-0 in the mainevent and then lose three matches in a row...). I'll PM Phantom and probably we're going to play our game sometime tomorrow night.

Question to Nihil Credo (as I haven't seen this deck put up results before): How many of your games did you actually win with the Swans combo, and how many on the power of Goyf/Mongeese/CBalance backed up by Forces ?

So far, I went for the combo twice. I'd estimate that in general going off is the optimal route for Swan-Thresh about once in ten games or so, primarily against control and midrange decks. In this tournament they've mostly been Force-pitch, since I played against aggro six rounds out of seven:

R1: Verdana with Goblins (burned his guys and attacked FTW)
R2: Whit3_Ghost with Thrash (I don't get manascrewed and out-CQ him)
R3: Poichoi with Ichorid (burned her guys and attacked FTW - no, really)
R4: KillemallCFH with Merfolk (burned his guys and attacked FTW)
R5: Elfrago with Eva Green (won G1 by dropping Swans at six mana and Chaining them for a few pitch counters plus a second Chain, then blocking a lethal Tombstalker, untapping and going off again for the kill; lost the other two games.)
R6: IBA with Quinn (in G2 I dropped Swans with Force backup, but before I could untap he revealed his two-card-hand to be Orim's Chant into E. Tutor into Grindstone into activation. Frownz. Won the other two.)

I'll probably write a decent report when this is all over, though.

Game 5 was a monster of an epic game. I'll write a report about this tournament so you can read about it later as I don't want to spoil my sideboard plans as they might be pretty close to what I'll board against Nihil Credo.

Alright, I beat Elfrago 3-0.

Jace wins G1 on his own. I wanted to cut that guy for good. Now I gotta think it over. I mean Evagreen is as (non-tribal-)aggro as it gets. Wow.

Tough luck for him: G3 he mulls to 4 due to 3 consecutive no-landers and scoops it up when he is left with 3 no non-land cards in hand and meager 2 lands in play after I took care of 2 Goyfs and one Seal.

Lost the first games due to a combination of bad luck/bad plays/bad matchup and really never played g3.
Oh, I guess I have a couple streaks now: the <I-always-lose-to-landstill-streak>> and the <<I-always-lose-the-game-right-before-winning-some-prizes-streak>>:tongue:

Due to losing to klaus, my streaks are down to always Top 8ing online (for this year) and always beating DiF :(

Now that I think of it, I may have been well adviced to bring in Umezawa's Jittes vs. klaus. I didn't think of it at the time, but having one piece of equipment is absolutely pivotal to beating Humility, and that card indeed cost me games. This does warrant further consideration.

Against your list I'd rate my chances at 85% preboard (you can only win when I'm landscrewed) and at around 60-65% postboard. Ask Marius Hausmann, he can tell. If you won't belive this, I'd absolutely like to play a testsession sometime next week between Tuesday and Friday if you have time.

For the serious part, I'm sorry to crush some people's dreams but Nihil Credo wins 3-0. I should have won at least one game but he got Top + CB on turn 3at the latest every game and had three or four counters each game when I had gotten rid of his CB. Shit happens.

Confirmed. And it's a good thing that I goldfished a bunch of absolutely terrible draws beforehand, too, because during the actual match I used up every single one of them (including a Daze on a Brain Freeze copy).

Yeah, Landstill's probably the #1 most desired matchup for Solidarity. I think the only more desirable matchup is probably 43land.dec. Rifter/Wombat, I guess. Okay, and maybe Enchantress.

Solidarity has a fair number of autowins, actually. Especially over a five game set with no time limit.

I'm aware that it looks crappy for me G1. But the fact that it would have been a best of 5 session does make a difference there. Also I have some experience against Solidarity with my list and post board there are hardly any dead cards left in my lib and I won more than 50% of those games.
