1. My friend had taiga out with anger in the yard. He just played goyf. Can I waste taiga so he doesn't get haste? When does the creature gain haste?

2. When are state based effects checked? after a spell is played? like when a goyf is incinerated and lives.

3. Priority. I have ee out and want to pop it. it isnt my turn. When do i get priority to pop it. when can my opponent grip it?

1. If the Taiga is his only mountain you can waste it to let Goyf lose haste so he can`t attack anytime before the declare attackers step. The Goyf

2. SBE are ckecked anytime someone could play a spell. So they are checked before Incinerate resolved and directly after it resolved. So the Goyf survives if there at least two non instant card types in your graveyard.

3. Since it's your opponents turn he will get priority first so gets the opportunity to grip the EE before you can activate it in his Upkeep if he already had it in hand by that time. So it the best way to garantuee to be able to use your EE is to activate it directly after it resolved.

Wrong, SBE's are checked anytime a player would recieve priority. The Incinerate will count towards the number of card types because when SBE's are checked the incinerate will already have resolved and be in the graveyard.

As for the third question:
Anytime your opponent wants to go to the next step/phase or if he wants to have something resolve he will pass priority and you will have the chance to pop. Your opponent will have his first chance during his upkeep, you will have your first chance when your opponent passes priority to you in hopes of going to his draw step.

We have an incinerate, which deals 3 damage. For Mr Tarmogoyf to survive this, we need him to have 4 Toughness when SBE's are checked. For this he needs 3 cardtypes. he already has instant from the Incinerate, because you didn't read my previous post. So he needs 2 more non-instant cardtypes in any graveyard to survive. You silly Dutchman.
