Hi, since Dark Icy Forest seems pretty much worked out i decided to train again by building a new deck. I've been very interested in land use deck more and more and i decided to build my own version of the deck. This deck consist of a fast build with big guys that can easly hold out there needs making it a fast growth and fast win deck.

I did some deck tests and it works pretty well, even vs control decks as you will see that tapping to much lands will have consequences.

Heres the 1st established version of the deck:

// Lands
7 [TSP] Forest (3)
4 [SHM] Mountain (4)
4 [TE] Wasteland
4 [B] Taiga

// Creatures
3 [RAV] Birds of Paradise
4 [CST] Orcish Lumberjack
2 [FD] Cosmic Larva
2 [CHK] Azusa, Lost but Seeking
4 [OD] Terravore
3 [PY] Lesser Gargadon
4 [WL] Harvest Wurm
3 Argothian Wurm
4 [MOR] Countryside Crusher

// Spells
2 [PLC] Boom/Bust
4 [FD] Crucible of Worlds
4 [IN] Bend or Break
2 [8E] Creeping Mold

// Sideboard
SB: 2 [PLC] Boom/Bust
SB: 2 [8E] Creeping Mold
SB: 4 [SHM] Vexing Shusher
SB: 4 [8E] Boil

I'll be explaining each card and its use.

[U]Bird of Paradise: I added BoP because i wanna be safe that i will always have mana to play spells even if i have to sacrifice my own lands.

Orcish Lumberjack: Orcish Lumberjack is quiet a key card in this deck since he can help me bump up my creatures fast in to play and it wont hurt since i always benefict of having lands in graveyards.

Cosmic Larva: Cosmic Larva is great for its low cost and although i have to sacrifice 2 lands each turn to have it in game, it combos well with Azusa and Crucible Worlds.

Azusa, Lost but Seeking: I felt it was necessary to have this card in the deck so it would allow me to bump up 2 lands from the graveyard anytime i would need to.

Terravore: This card is obviously a must for its cheap and great effectiveness on the deck.

Lesser Gargadon: Again, very cheap and no penalty with the right cards in game.

Harvest Wurm: Always helpful 3/2 creature for only 2 mana.

Argothian Wurm: Argothian works great since it makes the opponent have to choose if he wants to get hit by 6 dmg or lose a land basicly and i benefict from both.

Countryside Crusher: As everyone knows this card grows crazly big in this kind of decks so it would be pretty silly not to have it here.

Boom/Bust: a destroy land combined with Armageddon.

Crucible of Worlds: keeps me safe from mana needs, key card.

Bend or Break: this card is awesome for land removal and works really great with this deck.

Creeping Mold: Disenchant+destroy land combined

Vexing Shusher: Probably i will end up changing this card.. because i i've done pretty well without it vs control decks although it still helps.

Boil: Bye Islands, and great for Terravore.

And thats it.. i hope you guys like it, i'll be happy to read some helpful comments with tips to upgrade the deck. Thanks :)

Might consider changing Lesser Gargadon for Greater Gargadon and Harvest Wurm for Life with the Loam.

I just played you on MWS and told you to swap Lesser for Greater and Harvest for Life :tongue:

Now that I see the actual decklist, you should probably play 4 Birds of Paradise, and only 3 Crucible.

If you wanna keep this deck within a budget you can try Harmonize, if you stick to MWS then a Loam engine will do for draw, firestorm seems nice also.
I dont know Gaeas blessing for a long game plan?

If you're going with Loam and Crucibles (which I do suggest), I would say take out 4 basic lands for 4 Wooded Foothills. You can keep grabbing lands with them and thin your deck.

this decks against combos is a totally bye. For them , i mean. At least run pyrostatic pillar SB.

Hum.. i understand your idea with firestorm.. but at this point i'm not sure if he has a spot in the main deck, but might be a add for SB, same for Gaeas blessing because this cards sounds a bit risky.

Thats a good point, i'll be adding that for the next change.

Pyrostatic pillar? but why? :P Most of my cards are of that converted mana cost.

Thanks again for comments and tips :)

You probably hate me for this...but eerh...Tarmogoyf :tongue:

Perhaps kick out the 3 Argothian Wurm and 1 Terravore for a playset.

This deck could use Chalice, 3sphere, and other cards to stop combo. I agree with piceli that this deck would be a bye for combo.

Does look like some interesting cards indeed although i would put Chalice in SB. What would you recommend for exchange in MD? problem now is that it gets pretty hard to remove anything.

If you want to effectively run Chalice and Trinisphere against combo, you need a stompy manabase: City of Traitors, Ancient Tomb and some form of Mox. This makes it very hard to run more than 1 color; also you should then ditch anything costing 1 mana, and rethink anything that costs 2 mana. It's probably not worth it; or you'll just have to revamp the entire deck.

Aren't we complicating the deck a little bit here? This deck is was made for play and control of mana, i know does cards help.. but.. what would be chances of rolling a good hand with so many of does cards?

My bad, I just realized that dredging a Blessing completely shuts down the deck. hehehe. sorry.
Trinis and pillars SB, maybe trinis MD but hoses moxes of your own...
