IN
DTB
Threshold – 15 (variants include 5 Ugr, 3 Ugw, 5 Ugb, Ugbw, NQGw)
Aggro Loam – 10 (8 Rgb, Rgbw, Gbw)
Landstill – 9 (colors include 4C, 4 UWb, Vorosh, 2 Uwg)
Goblins– 8 (splashes include 2 mono-colored, 2w, b, 2g, bgw)
GoyfSligh - 7 (includes 1 creature heavy version, 1 Confidant version, and 5 more traditional builds)
Little Blue men and women – 10 (although this is not even a true archetype, I think it may be important to note that between, Merfolk, Fairies, and Fish, we have 10 top8 decks. Maybe we can create a Little Blue Tempo thead :;):)
I wonder how we would go around this, and would love some feedback from the ones running the show... perhaps we could do what we used to do to ATWs, and have one primary thread with links to the appropriate threads therein.
I would just like to get all the DTBs the coverage they deserve.
Perhaps it could be a flavors of fish thread, with links to the other decks?
Any thoughts on the matter would be welcome!

Merfolk is Fish. We really need to stop calling UtilityWizardsandFriends.dec Fish. Just saying.
You could lump them all together under one major archetype. But the discussions that follow might be a little bit confusing. You're going to have at least three different decks (Fish, Faeries, and Wizards.dec), and their subsequent color combinations.
Also, each one operates differently. Whether or not it's different enough to warrant each having their own archetype or not is something that needs to be determine beyond a reasonable doubt.

Hrm... Well, Faeries have >9000 internal archetype, same for Merfolk, and there are a fair number of different fish lists. I presume it's something relevant to note, but I doubt that each archetype by itself is really that... persent? No, that's not the work I'm looking for. iDunno, but I don't think that each deck's thread should be put in the [DTB] Forum.
T-T-T-TANGENT: does anyone have those Fish lists?

Use the resources available to you. Look in the Historic Top8 thread in the DTBF.

I wouldn't put Merfolk and "Fish" into the same list, even tho' "Fish" started as a Merfolk deck, the concept behind the archetype is more or less about tempo where the Merfolk of today are more like a form of mono-U Meat Hooks.

How is the Merfolk of today any different from in concept from the Fish of the past? Fish back then had Lord of Atlantis, which grants you Islandwalk and +1/+1 benefits. It's still tempo based now. You have cantrips and card drawing, and counters to deny your opponent's spells. You can even run bounce if you wanted.

More to the point, what would a "Little Blue Men" thread accomplish? While Merfolk and Fish can play in a similar way - but you wouldn't cram them in the Slivers thread either, right? - you definitely can't say the same for Faeries thanks to the whole "I play all my creatures at EOT" which is the whole point of the deck.

However, don't some Fish decks try to mimic Flash by running Vial?

no.

I think you missed my point. When 20-30 cards from each deck have to be played as a single chunk, putting them in the same thread is a recipe for a train wreck. Half of the points that get raised will be irrelevant, because even a common card like, say, Stifle or Ponder changes drastically depending on stuff like how often you tap out and how fast your clock is.
To repeat myself: would you confine them all to the CounterSlivers thread then?
Threads don't cost anything to create. The main argument against having more threads is what, exactly? That the same point will be brought up multiple times? That's why Tim Berners-Lee gave us links. "Hey guys, what about this new Shards of Alara instant in Faeries?" "It's been already dismissed. See the discussion in the Threshold thread [link]. The same arguments apply to us". Something similar already happens with Thresh and Landstill variants anyway.

The main difference is the original fish was about incremental tempo/card advantage based deck that rolled to aggro, while contemporary fish has more of an emphasis on being aggro. There are similarities, don't get me wrong, but Merfolk/Fish have moved closer to the beat down paradigm thanks to new tech.

Well, we could just make them all DTWs/ATWs... as together they have made the DTB requirements, but I do feel they all do deserve their recognition...
Also:

Point taken, that's why I suggested various links, similar to how the original landstill thread was intended (a main thread with links in the opening post to the other more specified thread)...
I also see no slivers in my current faeries build  .

2 things:
1) One of the decks is a [DTW]. I can't get the damn numbers right for some reason (wtfcountingwtf), but one of the decks top 8'd at least 4 times.
2) Put that in the [DTB] Forum and call it good. Works for everyone, right?
