Okay, basically I want to create Tezzeret the Seeker as a card on MWS and use it.

I try to create it as an individual card and it does not allow me to add it to my deck, saying "Can't add card(s): You can only add self-made cards from compiled card sets."

I try to create the set for Shards of Alara, going into Analyze/Add/Remove Sets. I put Shards of Alara, ALA, and then I checked "Get data from text spoiler" and chose a Notepad document I created with the following format:

Card Name: Tezzeret the Seeker
Card Color: U
Mana Cost: 3UU
Type & Class: Creature - Planeswalker
Pow/Tou: 0/4
Card Text: +1: Untap up to two target artifacts. -x: Search your library for an artifact with converted mana cost X or less and put it into play. Shuffle your library. -5: Artifacts you control become 5/5 artifact creatures until end of turn.
Flavor Text:
Artist:
Rarity: R
Card #: 1

When I try to generate the set, it says "Error adding cards from spoiler file. Check file Syntax."

I've tried saving the .txt file in various folders in my Magic Workstation program before uploading it. I compared my Syntax to that of the one used for Eventide via mtgsalvation (Eventide.txt spoiler via Notepad), and it follows the exact same formatting.

What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help me with this matter? I really want to test Tezzeret and MWS is frustrating me.

Fastest way to do it without generating a set: copy/paste Jace Beleren and edit one copy with Tezzeret's data. The edition will still be Lorwyn, but who cares.

Copy/paste Jace Beleren how?

In the spoiler text file. Yank the code for Jace out to make sure you have the syntax right, and then just change it to Tezzeret's text and make a new spoiler file.

Actually, no. What I meant was this:

0) Load your Master Base.
1) Switch to "Edit Mode" (at the far right of the toolbar)
2) Right click on Jace Beleren, "Copy".
3) Right click on Jace Beleren, "Edit Record". Insert Tezzeret data.
4) Right click anywhere in the list, "Paste". This gets you Jace Beleren back.
5) Press Ctrl-S to save the Base.
6) Switch back to "View Mode".

Wow. I didn't even know you could do that. I'll have to remember that in the future when I want to add spoiled cards.

Can other people see the card you just made that way?

Yes. Your card databases don't matter when playing against another player, MWSPlay directly transmits the card text. The only thing that is affected are card pictures (to see the art of your opponent's cards, both set abbreviation and card name need to match).

This is the most recent MWS thread that I saw, so I'll ask it here:

I have neither the Eventide nor Alara sets on my MWS, but when I do the auto update it tells me taht I'm up to date.

Can somebody link me to some magical internet address where I could get these two things without doing any actual work?
