Hello kitties!!!
...meow?

Interesting idea, but you may wish to check out the Aggro Loam thread for ideas. Aggro Loam does a lot of what this deck does, but has the added advantage of not being a (non-Landstill) control deck and therefore being much more resilient and powerful. If you opt for a white splash in Aggro Loam, you can run many of the same cards as you do here, including Confinement and Swords.

Also, I had to look up Invigorating Boon. Upon seeing it, I realized why I didn't know it off the top of my head: it's terrible.

Very interesting deck idea. Mixing Loam and Rifter. Never run Moat in a deck that runs Tarmogoyf. Also, running Loam without fetchlands is a bad plan. Cut some basics and add 3x Windswept Heath, 2x Wooded Foothills.

Get rid of Invigorating Boon and put in Decree of Silence. Cut the 2x Moat for either Devastating Dreams or an Armageddon type effect so as this deck can turn itself into a Terrageddon style deck. Run Terravore over Goyf, he is just better in this kind of deck. These are the creatures I would recommend for this deck:

3x Eternal Dragon
2x Terravore
2x Eternal Witness

Now the wishboard is always debatable but certainly never play without:

1x Loam
1x Reverent Silence
1x Hull Breach/Seeds of Innocence/Shattering Spree
1x Devastating Dreams/Land Destruction Spell
1x Pyroclasm
1x Morning Tide (If you play against Dredge you will be thankful to have this despite the fact if fucks up Loam on occassion).

And just personal choices here
1x Worm Harvest
2x Ghostly Prison
3x Krosan Grip
3x Chalice of the Void

Choke is very much unnecessary unless you plan on playing against a lot of Spring Tide/Solidarity. The deck will smash Thresh and all its incarnations anyway, Choke is really unnecessary. But yeah, certainly an interesting hybrid Loam deck.

EDIT: Totally forgot about Akroma's Vengeance, that card should certainly be in here somewhere and in the wishboard.

In the past I have tinkered with Lightning Rift + Life from the Loam. But a question that has always come up:

Is Lighting Rift better than Seismic Assault, given that I'm playing a Loam shell?

The answer to this was always "no".

But cicling gives more card advantage

But cicling gives more card advantage

This is a common misconception. It really depends on the situation.

You are getting CA with Loam + Cycling Lands, no matter whether you're playing Rift or Assault. Maybe the CA generated with Rift is higher. But usually it works like this:

- Loam + Cycling Lands + Rift unanswered = massive CA. But you still need to win with the extra cards you're drawing.
- Loam + Cycling Lands + Assault unanswered = decent CA + you're able to win either on the spot or within 2 turns.

Has anyone thinked about an hybrid solution as Life From the Loam + Lightning Rift + Seismic Assault + Stax package? The sinergy between enchantment and Smokestack is great, since you can search Rift or Seismic with an Academy Rector sacrificed via Stax.

I know it's another kind of deck, but I didn't want to open an hollow and uselesss topic.

While it seems like the most 'win more'/danger of cool things, the 1/3 2G treefolk from one of the new sets brings back 2 lands from your GY to hand when he CiP, possibly better with rift/slide than loam, as it costs less mana, and can be done at instant speed. (requires slide obv)

EDIT: You're not playing slide... why not just play aggro loam and seismic? lands that discard for free and deal 2 seem better than a hella slow CA engine that (cycle cost + R) for the same 2 damage seems terrible in comparison, at least not without counter/discard/something backup to stall with.
