you attack with preeminent captain and put the changeling titan into play tapped and attacking...how does this work? can you champion the captain? what about a non attacking creature?

also, could someone tell me how ebonblade reaper works. whenever it deals combat damage to a player, the player loses half their life....this happens after all the combat damage goes through?

Scenario 1: you declare attack with Preeminent Captain.
You may now play a Soldier from your hand, which is also attacking.
A Changeling is every creature type in every zone. So you may play it. Champion means this:
"When this comes into play, sacrifice it unless you remove another creature you control from the game. When this leaves play, that card returns to play."
You can choose to remove the Preeminent Captain from the game. Your Changeling Titan will still be attacking.

Yes, you can also remove a non-attacking creature from the game, Changeling Titan will still be attacking.

About Ebonblade Reaper: yes, when combat damage resolves, this ability triggers. For instance, an Ebonblade Reaper attacks your opponent with 20 life. He isn't blocked and combat damage resolves. Your opponent now has 18 life. Now the ability triggers: your opponent loses half his life rounded up: he now has 9 life.
