That;s not bad looking, but I'd rather play the original for all the players that don't know Commands 4 abilities.

I love the art!
But Im not too hung up on those textless cards.

Wow, good art, good card, foil, and no ugly FNM or DCI stamp. That doesn't happen very often. I can see these being very popular.

I need two of those. Probably just as much as Pinder needed Crystalline Slivers. I fear, I'll have to wait though.

As I am waiting for my Crystallines. I would really like to just up and buy them, but other things are commanding my money at the moment.

So the original reasoning behind not printing things like say, Swords to Plowshares, was that people in newer formats wouldn't know what the card did, and had to look it up.

So how in the hell do they believe they'll get away with printing a card that makes you choose 2 of 4 abilities isn't going to screw with a number of people's heads when they see it?

I used to joke with my friends that it won't be long before we see a textless card at Pre-Release.

Because its meant to be played in Standard, and if you don't know what Cryptic Command does by this point just sell all your Type 2 cards now.

It's finally time to do a run of textless promos that are all cards that no longer work under their original wording. I would play textless Ice Cauldron forever.

I can guarantee you there's a number of FNM kiddies that wouldn't know all 4 abilities, and it only requires you to play in X tournaments to get these. My gripe is that they've been saying for a while now that promo's of non-standard cards won't be common because "nobody knows what they do". Judge promos are cool and all, but we get completely shafted in secondary market because of it.

Will they ever make the textless frame less fugly? Srsly, their art manager is a nutjob.

I agree, I like these much better:

They have text, a better frame, and still have full art.

The Unhinged basic land-style frame with no text would be nice.

Unhinged land status would be MUCH better than that come to think of it. WHy does Wizards do stupid stuff?

This promo was such a shitty choice. Thoughtsieze would have been ten times better.

Thoughtseize is played in vintage and legacy (a lot more than command) and it's ability is way easier to remember.

BWHAAHAHAHAAH! Wizards does not care.

Now I can get two free foil Cryptic Commands for my Solidarity. BWHAAHAHAHAHAH!

Seriously; IBA was right, Thoughtseize isn't that powerful. Thoughtseize should have been an uncommon.

Thoughtseize is more powerful than Cryptic Command though. And is more of a money card because all formats are looking for it. I think it would have been a better decision than this.

One deck plays cryptic command as a two of. Thoughtseize is played in more than one deck in vintage, and more than one deck in legacy.

As far as wizards not caring, i was trying to make the point that thoughtseize is widely played in 4 formats, while cryptic is in 2, hence thoughtseize makes more people happy.

And am i the only one that thinks thoughtseize's art really sucks?

No and yes. Look and T2, and the Command sees much more play.

And art on thoughtseize is really awesome. we need more arts like that.

Sorry i don't think i was very clear. I was trying to say that in type two, they're both played, and in extended they're both played, but in legacy and vintage, just thoughtseize is played.

I think that a card that's played in 4 formats (even if its played a less in one of those) is better for a promo that one that's just played in one format, and will likely be pretty useless after it rotates. Thoughtseize is general utility that will be played for a good amount of time, regardless of format rotations.

I like the art for thoughtseize, when I bought my playset I though...hmmmm...at least the art is pretty.

I wonder if there will be any fun stories of players unfamiliar with the commands asking what it does and then being told I can pick from a...b...c..d...

Verbal disparagement could ensue.
