If we have 90 or more people, at the end of round 3 we will be taking sign ups for a FREE tournament for a playset of 4 revised Dual Lnads. The tournament will require you to use the same deck used in the main event(to make life infinitely freakin' easier) and to ensure speedy signups and send off. This free tournament will be single elimination.

Day 1 - Magic Trivia(FREE and with PRIZES for all participants) will be held for all interested participants after the top 8 starts.

If day 2 doesn't hit 60, then I will do the same thing I did last time. I will use my phancy-schmancy excel spreadsheet to calculate my break even point taking into account magic trivia prizes, judges, etc. The I will give away the maximum amount I can. This will be specific down to the exact person so I can't give you a number like i can for the above 20 person wide intervals.

I would love to see this event top 100 people like my first event.

I am going to be trying to put together a live feed like the source event, the prizes are massive, and you can't beat magic trivia. Hopefully this is a massively succesful event.

Just a note, but if I continue to do as poorly at Mana Leak's as I generally do, then I'd be happy to help with coverage.

However, if it conflicts with Magic Trivia, just know that I will definitely do Magic Trivia over it.

Theoretically, if you were to do Magic Trivia during the last round, that might work. We all know that there's no way to do it after Top 8 because it's entirely too late by then. Doing it before Top 8 seems to be a logical idea, but it screws out the people who barely miss out on Top 8. Doing it during Top 8 deprives the people who play Magic Trivia of watching Top 8.

Ideas on how to fix this would include:

1) Doing it on the last round. You end up missing the people who are still fighting to make it in, but you'd miss those people anyway if they make Top 8.

2) Doing it in between rounds. Unwieldy, and impossible to manage because not everybody will finish in a timely fashion.

3) Doing it before the tournament. Seems poor because then people have to wake up even earlier for a day long tournament.

4) Doing it after the tournament. Seems difficult because Top 8 probably already ran late.

So, if you have any ideas on this, I'd be glad to hear them. I really, really want to play Magic Trivia, but I'd also be happy to help with reporting. Obviously, I'd also like to Top 8, but we'll see what happens at the tournament. Given my recent poor performance at the Source tournament (and my track record at Mana Leak's), it's a safer assumption to assume not.

EDIT: I tell you what J.V., if Ebinsugewa backs out, and we're allowed four man teams, then it seems reasonable. Obviously, we have to see how it works out. If anybody on the currently constructed Team High Five Top 8's, that will throw off construction and probably allow restructuring.

Hi all...I want to revive an old game that I started with TMD Opens.

It is called TML Open Bingo.

The way it works is simple:

You start with a five by five grid like so

Then you simply fill in names of 25 Legacy players expecting to play at the upcoming Mana Leak Open 4 in Stratford like so.

Feel free to discuss your choices with others and strategies(center square tech for example) and of course, post your particular bingo board.

Just prior to Stratford, I will ask a mod to lock this thread so all answers at that point will be finalized.

You can mark off on your "TML Open Bingo" board every player who makes top 32 at the next TML OPEN 4. The person who makes the most bingos(four corners, row, column, diagonal) on their board will receive a special prize mailed to them shortly after the event.

In the event of a tie for the most bingos, the winner will be the person with the most overall correct guesses. The last tiebreaker will be placement of those players(for example correctly guessing the winner will hold more weight then guessing the second place finisher and so on).

Of course, this isn't always about track record.

Hopefully that was just a fluke and this year will get a lot more. I doubt it will be anywhere near the size of The Source Tournament, but I'd guess 80-90 Day 1 and maybe 60-70 Day 2.

The third magic tournament that I attended was the Mana Leak II. Herbig drove me back to school (I arrived at 4:30 AM), and aced my huge test the next morning.
