Hey Source,

I realized that there is a lack of creative and good-looking avatars here. In every other forum I've visited, there's always some artist who's adamant about making everything look pretty. I suppose it's my turn to carry the torch.

My name is Chris and I'm a student majoring in advertising and minoring in graphic design. However, most of my work stems from digital art, and I pretty much started out learning Photoshop by making signatures and avatars for Warcraft III forums at a young age. Fast forward 6 years and I'm enrolled in the Art Institute of Orange County, working towards my goal of becoming an art director for a major ad firm (no, not all artists starve :P).

Anyways, as thanks for these wonderful forums, I'd like to offer free forum avatars for anyone that requests them. The restrictions on these boards are quite strict (which makes my life SOO much easier), so I'll go ahead and list what you need to provide for me before I can make your avatar:


What is it about?
I need you to tell me what you want in your avatar. No it doesn't have to be magic, but if you could tell me exactly what you want, it'd make both our lives easier.

Style and Colors?
Tell me what font choices you'd like. Would you like a fancy border? A wild background? Monotone? Prismatic?

Any text?
If you decide that you want text, let me know what you want written!

What are my limitations?
The maximum avatar size on these forums is 64x64. It's quite small, so don't expect anything grand. No offensive material etc.

Anything else I need to have?
Have patience. I have a life too, believe it or not. It may take me 5 minutes for me to crunch out your avatar, it may take me a month. It all depends on my mood and how much spare time I have. If I get flooded with requests, I do them by order of convenience.

Okay, nice idea, I'll have one please :smile:

I want an avatar of a guy who pisses in the wind. You can make this as rediculous as you like. I would also like the text ADHD on it, preferably in the AC/DC style of my current avatar, in fact, the guy tries to piss over the ADHD logo, but he can't because the wind blows it away, all over his pants. Oh, and I would like the colorscheme to match theSource's. Can you do that for me? Thanx ahead of time (no, I'm not Cavius, but I thought I'd quote him on this one).

It made me remember when I was in school for graphic design as well. (ugh it has been ~3 years since I have gone)
I've been aching to go back, but I need to raise some money again.

Anyhow, I never had an avatar here and you made me think, Hey! I used to make these all the time.
So I found my FLCL one I pixeled myself :D

Yours are pretty darn good, I'm sure people would be happy to get them.
You'll find people may want strange things here, haha. Pictures of guys in pools ...

I'm actually surprised I haven't gotten many hits, I guess it's not a popular thing here. Either way, thanks for the comments :)

I'd like an avataar based on Force of Will showing off his man goodies, yeah know, Rockout with your Cockout. I think the best way to blur it out would be to put RO over Force of Will's loins but I'll let the artist genius move you. The borders can be the source colors. I'd like big bold blood red letters. I think I covered all the bases.

I've had the same avatar for a while now, and I figure this is a good a time as any to get a new one.

I'm not picky, but for continuity's sake (and because it's awesome), it should have Police Constable Nicholas Angel (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=nicholas%20angel&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi) (of Hot Fuzz fame) somewhere on it. Outside of that, surprise me. Let your muse guide you! Let loose the fury of artistic vision!

The avatars on this site are so small, it's either going to be him or not be him. There's not enough room for him to just be 'somewhere in it.'

Maybe animated, then. Or maybe it's hopeless. Thanks for ruining everything man :tongue:

Do we really want to turn this into the Wizards.com forums? If it were up to me there wouldn't be avatars. It makes looking at the forums in the office somewhat awkward.

And it's not that people here don't know how to shrink an image and put some pretty text on it. It's that people here are lazy and/or don't care.

That's easily remedied. Go to "User CP", then "Edit Options". Scroll down and uncheck "Show Avatars".
