I'm pretty sure when you cycle something, say forgotten cavern, the land goes to the graveyard and a trigger that says "Draw a card" is put on to the stack.

What happens when you cycle Decree of Justice, the "Draw a card"-trigger and the "Make broken amounts of soliders"-trigger go on the stack? So, it's two seperate triggers that happen when you cycle decree, it's not a single trigger? So, if someone stifles the "Make guys"-trigger I can still draw a card?

My last question is: How does Yixid Jailer effect cycling cards? Does it turn off the ability to cycle? Does the trigger not go on the stack because it is no longer in the graveyard when the ability tries to resolve? I only ask this because Joe Brennier (sp?) told me in the top 8 at the grid that he could shut off my ability to cycle decree with yixid jailer because when the card goes to check decree in the graveyard it would no longer be there (if that makes any sense, I'm shooting from my memory of a brief conversation about it two weeks ago.) He is a level 2 judge and I would trust his ruling since he is a genuinely nice guy, but I just wanted to understand how it works. If someone could explain, I'd offer free butt-secks as payment.

It's not a trigger, but an activated ability. When you play a cycling ability, the card is discarded as part of the cost, then the ability goes on the stack.

When you cycle decree, you pay 2W and discard Decree of Justice. This puts the "Draw a card" ability on the stack. Then the "When you cycle Decree" trigger goes on the stack above it. When that trigger resolves, you can pay X and get a bunch of Soldiers. The other ability resolves separately, and if the Make Soldiers trigger is countered, the other ability will still be on the stack.

My last question is: How does Yixid Jailer effect cycling cards? Does it turn off the ability to cycle? Does the trigger not go on the stack because it is no longer in the graveyard when the ability tries to resolve?
When you cycle Decree of Justice with Yixlid Jailor in play, the "Draw a card" ability will still happen as normal. The "When you cycle Decree of Justice" trigger will only trigger from the graveyard, so Yixlid Jailor will remove that ability and it won't trigger. So yes to draw a card, no to make Soldier tokens.

Wow, that kind of sucks. Thanks for the quick response.
