Chord of Calling -> Gaddock Teeg vs Gifts

Long story short,

If I play Gifts Ungiven at the end of my opponents turn, to which he responds by Chord of Calling for Gaddock Teeg, does my Gifts still resolve?

I'm fairly confident it does, since it is already on the stack. But my opponent adamantly argues that it does not resolve.

Yeah, Gaddock Teeg only stops you from playing spells. You already played Gifts Ungiven, and Teeg doesn't stop you from resolving it.
