Am I going crazy here? Question at the bottom of the post.

False_Peace plays Doomsday from Hand
<False_Peace> Ok?
False_Peace puts Dark Ritual to Graveyard from Play
<Slartibartfast> Ok
...
False_Peace plays Stomping Slabs from Hand
<False_Peace> Ok?
<Slartibartfast> Thinking
<Slartibartfast> Okay
False_Peace is looking its Library...
False_Peace puts Stomping Slabs into play from Library
False_Peace puts Stomping Slabs into play from Library
False_Peace puts Stomping Slabs into play from Library
False_Peace shuffles library
False_Peace stops looking its Library...
<False_Peace> Ok?
<Slartibartfast> That doesn't work like you think it does.
<False_Peace> ?
<Slartibartfast> A card named Stomping Slabs was revealed.
<Slartibartfast> But it doesn't say, "For each card named Stomping Slabs"
<Slartibartfast> Like, the Ripple mechanic is worded "for each".
<False_Peace> yes multiples trigger
<Slartibartfast> I don't think so. It just reveals the top seven, then checks if there's a card named Stomping Slabs there.
<Slartibartfast> Nothing there says it counts multiples.
<False_Peace> exactly
<False_Peace> i reveal the top 7
<False_Peace> one at a time
<False_Peace> they each trigger
<Slartibartfast> Um. No, you reveal the top seven. That means you reveal the top seven.
<Slartibartfast> I understand why you made that mistake, but it just doesn't work.
<False_Peace> dude
<False_Peace> multiples trigger
<Slartibartfast> Let me check Starcity Games, see if they have a ruling on it.
<False_Peace> Ok
<False_Peace> this is taking way to long
<False_Peace> cya
<System> Player Lost

I looked it up and I was actually wrong about the wording on Surging Flame et. al, but still. I'm a bit rusty, but I'm fairly sure this is only going to trigger once, when you reveal your top seven. amidoinitrite?

When Stomping Slabs reveals the top seven cards and two of those cards are Stomping Slabs, does it do seven damage or fourteen damage?

I'll edit this into the original for the MWS challenged.

I don't read MWS. Let me know when you have a real question.

You're correct.

Stomping Slabs checks only if a revealed card is named Stomping Slabs. The key phrase is "if a card ...", which only checks that the condition was met. It does not look for if there are multiple cards with that name.

While I am not a judge, I have actually had this come up during a tournament, where I received this ruling.

In that case, what KzryMoose posted was right on. If someone is claiming there's triggers involved or something, they have no clue - ie, they're using MWS.

Also note that you declare a target when you play Slabs, even though "target" is buried down near the end.

Stomping Slabs 2R
Sorcery
Reveal the top seven cards of your library, then put those cards on the bottom of your library in any order. If a card named Stomping Slabs was revealed this way, Stomping Slabs deals 7 damage to target creature or player.
