Several buddies of mine and myself were discussing the "flavorful viability" of ninjas in red, should Wizards ever decide to revisit that creature type. We decided it was acceptable. Here is what we came up with:
(Note that this is not designed specifically for the legacy community, just Magic as a whole.)
Sneaky Bomber :3: :r: :r:
Creature - Human Ninja
Ninjutsu :2: :r: :r:
Whenever [Cardname] deals combat damage to a player, deal 3 damage to each creature.
2/4
Our rationale was that although red is not necessarily as evasive as blue, or as sneaky as black, it does love a good surprise boom. This is exemplified by cards like Guerrilla Tactics, and basically any instant-speed burn. Also, ninjas use smoke bombs and the like as diversions, and red likes nothing better than a big fiery diversion. So, thoughts? Could this work? Would they be able to print more than a few red ninjas? How about white or green? This is not an exercise in making a good creature, just a thinking exercise focusing on flavor and mechanics.
Edit: Its great to see people care about mechanics and flavor. /sarcasm
