So,Iīve tried to build a deck that could use Suppression Field, because the card is Just amazing. I used it in a mono w control combo version, and it didnīt played very well (quite bad actually). Someone in the other deck suggested that combo was not the right shell to try to fit in Suppression Field, and during testing, I now agree. So this other deck is my 2nd shot at trying to build a deck that is not hurt by it. So, hereīs the decklist:

Tested Biterblossom: Too slow, and kill me lots of times along with DC.

Card choices:

Fetid Heath, Scrublands, Swamp, Plains: No fetches allowed, so this is the best I could make. Iīve never had trouble with the mana base though.

Mox Chrome: You want to cast your spells asap, so it fits.

Dark Confidant: Draw engine.

Isamaru, Hound of Konda, Savannah Lions: Cheap and consistent 1cc dudes, that help with the clock.

Tidehollow Sculler: Great against every deck. Good body. I used to run Mesmeric Fiend also, but he sucks.

Serra Avenger: Biggest guy in the deck.

Samurai of the Pale Curtain: helps a lot in some machs, and trades with x/3s.

This kind of deck usually run Aether Vial and Top. I cutted those for Field, and other goodies. Think is playing better than the vial version.

Swords to Plowshares: To good to cut. The life gain has been a pain in the ass.

Thoughtseize: Tried removal, but think 4 of these are doing just fine.

Vendetta: Complements STP.

Sinkhole: Great against decks with fetches, along with Suppression Field. Not really happy though. Could be removal/discard/dude.

Sideboard:

Abolish: Good against Counterbalance and other stuff.

The rest is self-explanatory, I think. Nothing that canīt be changed though.

Well, this is it. What do you guys think? More discard? More removal? More dudes (I tried Jotun Grunt, but in a deck with 0 Fetch, he isnīt that good)? Should I give up on the deck? Use another color, not black?

This post will be used for the MUīs while I play them. (can I do this? if I canīt, fell free to delet this post mods.)

Dreadstill
1st game:
I play land, he play fetch. I play land, and play Suppression Field, he cracs fetch, brainstorm, then forces it. He plays land. I play Isamuru. He plays land and tinkeret. I use vendetta on Tinkeret eot, swing for 2, and play Lions. He plad Dreadnought and stifle. I STP it, he gains 12 life, I swing for 4, on his turn he plays another Dreadnought and Stifle. I try to STP is (always with 1 mana open) but he forces it. 2 rounds later I lose.

2nd game:
I play mana, he play mana, I play mana+Sculler, seeing 2 mana, 2 Stifle, 2 Counterbalance, 1 Tinkeret. Remove tinkeret. He plays counterbalance. I play another Sculler, remove a Stifle, Having stp in hand in case of vendetta. I also resolve a Suppression Filed, and later an Serra Archangel, making him counter my Isamuru and a mox with counterbalance. 1 tur before he was going to die, he plays EE for 2, and crack it, with his 6+ mana (his Counterbalance dies too). I loose my board. Heīs at 2, and Iīm at 18. He plays Standstill and starts swinging with Mishraīs Factory. When Iīm at 6, I crack Standstill with a Isamuru, wich resolve. next turn he does nothing. Then try a Sinkhole on his factory (only blocker), and he Spell Snareīs it. I play Suppression field, wich resolve’s, but he activate Factory first. I play Abolish on it, he forces it, I play another abolish, he daze, I play 1, he dazes again, I play one more, and get tapped out, but then he had no more counters, and concedes.
(in this mach, he never retrieved his removed cards from the Sculler after they died. He forgot. I should have mentioned it, or he just did a misplay? Mws game, so no big worries)

3rd game:
This was quite fast. He got a bad 6 cards hand I guess, I did turn 1 and 2 Sculler, 1 Thoughtseize and a Serra Avanger on 4th. He dies pretty fast.

I think that the one who gets the best hand in this mach, wins. If I start fast with Field to stop fetches and Scullers beat down, he loses. If he gets a Dreadnaought out, backed with anything, he wins in 2 turns.
PS: abolish rocked in this MU.



UWB StandStill

1st game:
He goes fetch, I go Lions. He brainstorms, and in his turn goes EE for 1. My turn I go for Suppression Field, that resolves, swinging for 2. He plays delta, forgetting about Field. He then pays 2 +1 life for a tundra, and passes. I sinkhole a land(leaving him with only 2), plays Isamuru, swing, and pass. He draws, play land, and pass. I swing for 4, and play Serra Avanger. He plays TfK, and it resolves. I also play a Dark Confidant, and empty my hand. He explodes EE with 4 mana, and passes. I get Sinkhole and another Suppression Field, and swing for 5. I swing, my Angel get STPīd, and an Isamuru caountered. Heīs at 3. Then he goes to 1, and in his turn play a face down card. I Vendetta it, and he concedes.

2nd game:
(havenīt sideboarded anything. should have taken the abolishīs)
I got raped. He plays land, I play thoughtseize. He brainstorms, and I see: Academy Ruins, Mishraīs Factory, Crucible, EE, STP and Fow. I cry a little. I take EE out, he plays Standstill. When at 5 mana, I Thoughtseize, then play 2 Scullers. He plays some spells, get an EE for 2, explodes, play card face down, and play another Standstill. My STP gets countered, and he deals with everything I use with recurring EE.

3rd game:
He mulls to 5, and I 2 6 seeing: 3 lands, mox, Field and Confidant. I imprint the Field and resolve a T1 Conficant. He plays island. I draw 2 lands, and swing 2. He does nothing. I get land+Toughtseize, wich takes 1 of 2 angels he have in hand. He plays moph next turn, and pass. I draw Seixe+Sculler. The first takes Crucible, and the second nothing. He morphs the angel, and start swinging (topdecked the 2nd W mana source). I get Sinkhole (late) + land (7th). Swing. He hits me and play Factory. I play lion, and swing with Sculler. He hits me again, I go down to 1, see a land with Confidant, and end the game with 3 dudes on table, 2 lands, 2 Seizes and 2 mox on hand, while he had nothing in hand.

This game made me consider the card Vindicate more. Do you guys think I should find room for 2 or 3 of thiss card MD? Thanks.
Won twice against landstill today. Discarding theyīre draw spells rocks.


UGW Threshold

1st game:
I start with lions, He with Mongoose. I swing, he blocks, and I drop another Lion. He cantrips and drops Mongoose. I swing and drop sculler, taking O-ring. He Predicts, passes, and I swing again and play Suppression Field. He brainstorms. He plays Countebalance. I sing him down to 9. He drops another Goose and Medling mage (for Bob) I try to STP, he has SDT on top (I have Vendetta in hand also). I attack, he has STP for Sculler, getting Threshold, cleaning my board. I play Vendetta, he has STP on top, I take 8 dmg, and 8 more next turn, and quit.

2nd game:
I imprint Sinkhole and get 1st turn Confidant. He ponders. I drop Sculler, taking CB among daze, goyf, predict and forest. (I had crypt in hand) . He predicts. My next turn Sculler gets dazed (only 1 land and 1 mox). He plays 2 Mongoose. I start swinging only with Sculler. He drops goy, then drops goyf, then drops goyf, then drops goyf. Luckly, after the first goyf, I dropped an Avanger, to keep on swinging. I shrink his guys 3 times with crypt, and am able to swing with angel FTW.

3rd game:
He started with tons of cantrips, and I start slow with T2 Field and T3 DK, only to see them contered/STPīd. I get T4 Avanger, he follows with Goyf. I swing only once, since it got STPīd. He rapes me with goyf and manages to win with lots of cantrips, conters and STPīs…

Vendetta sucked here. Tormords werenīt that great either (maybe relics would be better).
Would like to have Chains of Mephistopheles in the SB for this MU, but theyīre too expensive

Leyline of the Void/ Elm of Obediance Combo.
1st game he draws 35 cards, but cant find helm. I kill him
2nd game he combos nearly dying with 5 lands due to double Suppression Field.
3rd game I kill him with Isamuru, while destroyng his lands and then destroyng a T0 Leyline with Abolish.
This isnīt a dificult MU due to Field, Sculler, seize, decent clock, and Abolish SB.

Lost badly against Goyfsligh. Think that the same will happen to Burn.
Imperial Painter: Good MU i think. lost to my own mistakes (played really badly). After SB is very good.

That's not good I think. Have you tried equipment and/or bitterblossom?

Equipaments I have never tried because they are really bad with Suppression Field.
Bitterblossom is a card that I might try. Maybe in the place of Sinkhole/Vendettas.
