From the way you're asking this question, I have to ask: are you aware of the fact that the Panorama only gets you ONE land? Not a Forest, Plains AND Mountain?

I have to assume he's being facetious. There's no way anyone could think that the word basic only applies to the Forest and not the Plains and Island the follow and be literate enough to actually read Magic cards.

I don't think anyone implied that they thought it might only apply to forest. The OP jsut missed the word basic when reading the card.

Reading the question, the OP apparently did think that just maybe the "basic" did apply just to the first word in the list. That's been covered.

If a person has grown up speaking a non-English language, then the mistake is understandable. We do have a lot of Europeans on these boards. Even if he was born in The States, English may not be his native language.
