Use of LED during upkeep step etc..

Just to clear this up with myself and so I know the proper playing method:

Situation at hand:

I have 2 LED in play and I will draw Ad Nauseam during my drawstep. I want to activate both LED's and then float the mana for my draw. What is the proper way to announce this to my opponent, and do they have a chance to respond between the addition of mana and my actual drawing of Ad Nauseam

You would crack the LED's during your upkeep. The mana will stay in your pool until the end of your draw step. If you were to crack them during your draw step you would have to discard the Ad Nauseam. As for them responding, mana abilities do not use the stack but they will have an opportunity to play spells or abilities at the end of your upkeep.

It allows you to use the mana from the LED to cast the Ad Nauseam, rather than float it after it's already been cast. For example,
Turn one Land, Petal, LED;
EOT Mystical for ADN;
upkeep crack LED, during draw step tap land, sac Petal, ADN.

That it doesn't work during your Main Phase. The way LED is worded makes sure you can't play a card from your hand with LED-Mana, so floating the mana during the upkeep takes care of this because he will draw his spell one step later.

Thanks for the replies, new to playing with LED and forgot the wording. Going to be trying to play a storm deck. Going to solitaire it many times before actually taking it to my local Legacy game.

That was the way I thought it should be done. Same case if its Brainstorm turn 1, leave Ad Nauseam on top, drop 2 LED's. Turn 2 crack during upkeep, draw AN and play it. I was wondering it they could chant you or something between ukeep/draw, which they can, so its a weak position to be in if they run chant.

PS: try explaining this to people on MWS, I have had people tell me I burn for the mana yadda yadda....
