Well here's my take on a old favorite of mine Food Chain. I based it off the Extended version, but added in Sylvan Messenger as the main engine to keep your hand filled. I have to say the deck is a blast to play.

// Lands
4 Forest
2 Savannah
4 Windswept Heath

// Creatures
2 Wirewood Hivemaster
2 Regal Force
1 Fierce Empath
1 Elvish Harbinger
1 Eternal Witness
3 Elvish Visionary
4 Changeling Titan
2 Fyndhorn Elves
2 Birchlore Rangers
4 Sylvan Messenger
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Nettle Sentinel
4 Heritage Druid
4 Elvish Spirit Guide

// Spells
4 Summoner's Pact
4 Food Chain
1 Grapeshot
3 Orim's Chant

// Sideboard
SB: 3 Krosan Grip
SB: 3 Gaddock Teeg
SB: Open Slots???

Card choices:

Food Chain: The main engine of the deck.

Summoner's Pact: Free creature search.

Orim's Chant: Protection. I was thinking of using Swam also but I didn't want to many non-elf creatures.

Grapeshot: Main win condition.

Heritage Druid: The mana engine of the deck along with Nettle Sentinel. You like to see it pre-combo, but it's good to see anytime.

Nettle Sentinel: Untaps alot makes mana with the above.

Mana Elves: Early mana is good.

Sylvan Messenger: Engine to keep your hand filled. While it doesn't always net you cards the times it gets you 4 is awesome.

Elvish Harbinger:Questionable, but it tutors up an elf you might need. Good with Messenger and Visionary, but that's pretty much it. So it's a 2 of.

Birchlore Rangers:You need to make non-Green a couple of times. Can act as a mini Hertitage sometimes. Again useful some times but not all the time so I put it as a 2 of.

Changeling Titan:Now I can hear the WTFs? It's in the deck for a couple of reasons. One is that it Champions a creature. Getting mulitple uses out of your messengers AND Regal Force is so good. Secondly it is a 7/7 and the fact that it counts as an elf.

Elvish Visionary: Replaces itself works good with Harbinger.

Eternal Witness: Sometimes things get put into the yard that you want back.

Fierce Empath: There to help find a Regal Force. I might cut this down to a 1 of since it doesn't find anything else in the deck.

Regal Force: You draw lots of cards.

Wirewood Hivemaster: Pretty much every creature gets you an insect. The Insects turn into mana or more cards with Regal Force.

SB: Wide open.

Basically you want to get Food Chain into play and then play lots of Elves then at some point cast a leathal Grapeshot.

Why no Elvish Spirit Guide ? Why no Glimpse of Nature ? Why Harbinger ? Why Witness ?

Doesn't regular old Elves! just do this faster? I mean I love food chain, I own and use 8 of them on a regular basis, but it just seems like the Extended version of Elves! with glimpse would just do this faster. Also, where'd the Wirewood Symbiotes go? those things are phenomenal, despite not being elves.

Also FCE is already kicking around in legacy, though it plays nothing like this...

Try this build:

Lands

10x Forest
4x Savannah
4x Windswept Heath

Creatures

4x Wirewood Symbiote
3x Llanowar Elves
3x Fyndhorn Elves
4x Priest of Titania
2x Elvish Visonary
4x Wood Elves
4x Fierce Empath
3x Sylvan Messenger
1x Brass Herald
1x Duplicant
1x Myojin of Cleansing Fire
1x Myojin of Night's Reach
1x Myojin of Infinite Rage

Instants/Sorceries

2x Eladamri's Call
2x Idyllic Tutor

Artifacts/Enchantments

4x Food Chain

SB

3x Aura Shards
4x Gaddok Tegg
4x Pithing Needle
4x Wheel of Sun and Moon

The idea is to use the Food Chain to ramp up into huge creatures. The ideal format is:

Llanowar => Priest => Empath => Messenger => Hermit => Herald/Duplicant => MoNR => MoCF (1 mana left) => MoIR

Now they have no lands, creatures or hand and you have a 7/4. Believe it or not that sequence happens pretty frequently. And if something goes awry, you can always use elf/squirrel beatdown.

This deck is very versatile and extremely resistant and a lot of fun to play. I would give it a try.

Small comment: I'd choose Enligtened Tutor > Idyllic Tutor. The former protects you from discard, and it's cheaper. To gain advantage of Idyllic, you'll need to produce 4GW in the same turn. If that is turn 3, that can be rough.

Also, Blade's build contains too much cool stuff. Why not just play 1 card that wins the game instantly like Grapeshot? Even though Food Chain mana can't be used on what you want except creatures, a playset of Birchlore Rangers would be able to do the job.
