Hi magichollics brothers,

This is basically a land-destruction deck. But its not like the common Black Control (Pox, Pickula, etc.), itīs entirely commit with land-destruction, and all that they were sowed.

I named this Deck "The Princess Braids", in honour to a cult 80's movie "The Princes Bride". You'll remember "Hello, my name is Iņigo Montoya. You kill my father. Prepare to die".

The princess Braids
http://www.deckcheck.net/stats.php?id=58859

4 swamp
3 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Scrubland
4 Polluted Delta
4 Wasteland

4 Mox Diamond
4 Chrome Mox

4 Dark Confidant
3 Dusk Urchins
4 BitterBlossom

4 Braids, Cabal Minion
4 Sinkhole
4 Smallpox
4 vindicate

4 Chalice of the Void
2 Crucible of Worlds

This night i prove it and results very competitive (Im not a good player, but I was win almost all my duels). Itīs fast destroying, has synergy, and white would provide a complete sideboard (but I dont know goos sideboard cards well).

But most important, its fun (not for who's loosing his mana sources, sure).

I think gooblins type decks woould be problematic, but nothing than Engineered Plague don't fix.

Moxes accelerates Deck, an it works. Besides helps with legens excess.

Hi.

Braids has nice synergies with Karakas (when you already play white). I play this "combo" in my BGW Highlander and bouncing Braids eot and play it again locks your opponent away (and you'll get an eternal Blocker if you reached 5 Mana).
It is a slow and expensive kind of lock, but think of it.

Greetings

EDIT: Off Topic,
@Sek'Kuar:
Not Elder Dragon Highlander. We have in Germany a solid Highlander scene (since many years) that not does not blong to "EDH" and plays a lot different. You have no "gerneral", you have another banned list etc.

I like the idea, Braids has always been one of my favorite legendary creatures (#1 until Jhoira took her place). I'm just wondering, do you ever get stuck with a dead Braids in your hand? It seems to me that with 4 of her being run, what with her being a legend and all, you would have a dead card. Maybe drop to three and add another permanent or removal spell? I'm not entirely sure what to add, but as a rule of thumb, 4 of a single legend is too dense.

Also: "As you wish..."

Edit: Karakas is illegal in EDH. http://csclub.uwaterloo.ca/~geduggan/EDH_rules.html

Hello again, all of you,

I know the laters versions of "The Princes Braids" were noobie, in much senses. But now, i have improved the deck, and its very competitive. Take a look at this:

THE PRINCESS BRAIDS
http://www.deckcheck.net/stats.php?id=59082

4 Sinkhole
4 Smallpox
4 vindicate
4 Braids, Cabal Minion
4 Chalice of the Void

2 Crucible of Worlds
3 Ghostly Prison
2 Zuran Orb

4 Dark Confidant
4 Night's Whisper

2 Tombstalker

4 Chrome Mox

2 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 swamp
4 Scrubland
4 Polluted Delta
4 Wasteland
1 Karakas

Sideboard

4 Tormod's Crypt
4 Engineered Plague
1 Ghostly Prision
2 Zuran Orb
3 Seal of Cleanising
1 Crucible of Worlds

As you'll see, the mana curve have been upgraded, and the "evil gobbin/silver" problem, moderated. Sideboard includes Enginnered Plague too.
There is much synergy in all cards, and chrome mox and 8 card-draw accelerates the deck.

I keep the no-1CMC+Chalice strategy, cause I like that card, powerful cards in black are 2CMC, and this way i thwart all Legacy Decks who gives almost 40% to 1CMC cards.

I hope you like this Deck. Play it is fun, in a weird sense.

It's Obvious I'm still a Noob, but I think this deck is very good.

Few of your choices seems way random. You need more crucible because its the card that make your deck tick and is it one of the most common target for hate. The 2 zuran orb is strange. I think you should just keep one inside a enlightened toolbox. Flagstones of trokair is solid with symmetrical effects so you should add some.

That's what come to my mind for the moment.

Having no play on turn one if you don't draw a Chrome Mox sucks though. As for Chalice...there are not SO many decks who play 40% 1cc-cards that it's worth weakening the deck. It keeps you from playing Duress/Seize (although you could still play 3-4 with Chalice, I think), while on the other hand overloarding your 2cc slot. On your second turn, it seems you often want to play Sinkhole/Confidant/Smallpox before Chalice, because those cards get worse with each turn that passes.

I agree with the post above this one. Your curve has to be a little more balanced, rather than having a glut of 2cc spells and few, if any, at 1cc or 3cc. I would seriously consider dropping Zuran Orbs and maybe one Braids to fit in some hand disruption like Thoughseize or Duress. Chalice, while being a great control aspect, really slows down this type of deck. I would look for something more disruptive rather than controlling for a deck like this. Also, where are the Dark Rituals?

Next, like with any black Legacy deck, you have to be concerned about Dark Confidant and Tombstalker. If you're playing an aggro deck, like goblins, one Tombstalker flipped over with Bob is pretty much GG. Maybe try an alternative win condition like Exalted Angel, because she at least will get you back the life you'd lose if you flipped her over with Dark Confidant.

I would also switch the Chrome Moxes out for Mox Diamonds, as you'll almost always want to pitch a land over one of the playable spells in your hand.

Overall, I like the idea behind this deck. I think Ghostly Prison is a good call here, but maybe add more spot removal for creatures. Path To Exile is quickly becoming one of my favorites, but you can go with the old stand-by Swords to Plowshares too. This deck mirrors Deadguy in many ways, but I think the Braids element gives it a different feel. Good luck with the build, I hope the suggestions work!
