Any Legacy out in Michigan and/or Texas?

I know we used to have a bunch of Texans that couldn't figure out how to use the PM function, but I haven't seen or heard anything from them in ages.

What about Michigan or the Midwest?

Headed off to grad school next year. I remember a post where someone was actually considering the Magic scene as a factor to help him decide where to go...I'm just curious if there's anyone out there that would sling some spells if I end up on a free tour out that direction.

On that note, anyone in here an Aggie or Wolverine (College Station or Ann Arbor)?

Quite a bit in Michigan actually.

Fun Factory in Traverse City, MI has a large turnout every week from 20 to 36 people.

The skill factor is a decently high so you'll face off against good decks pretty much after the first round. It's normal to see Belcher, TES, Thresh, Team America, Dreadstill, and others.

I know you can run into Pat Chapin at RIW Games in Livonia. Not sure how the tournaments are run there and for all I know they don't play Legacy much. I just know that's where he hangs out at.

There's another one somewhere since we have a few more people at the top of the Eternal rankings that I don't know where they play. I'm guessing it's close to Mt Pleasant or close by there. Not sure really. I just see the other top ranked players living near there so either they have a store or are traveling a lot.

So if you're choosing based on college location Northwestern Michigan college is right down the road from the store in Traverse City.

Yeah, cause Portland is sooo much better.

Haha, definitely not choosing based on Legacy, but it'd be nice to know if there is any Legacy near Ann Arbor. Thanks for the info!

I'm a wolverine, but unfortunately there's not too much legacy happening outside RIW that I know of, and even their tourneys are infrequent. Pandemonium used to have Legacy every Saturday, but I haven't been there in ages. Maybe someone would like to bring me up to speed.

Theres Legacy in Austin TX at two stores that I know of, Battleforge Games and Ninja Pirate Land, BFG usually has 10-20+ people depending whats going on.

I know there's not much up north by Wolverine. I see a lot of people come down to Traverse City from there and Cheboygan. There must not be much south of here either since I see people drive up from Manistee and Cadillac also.

There is actually a pretty significant legacy community in Ann Arbor. Get Your Game On has a weekly tournament that ranges between 10-20 people. The address is listed below if you want more info.

Looks like Vivek beat me to it, but we do play Legacy in Ann Arbor every week Wednesday nights. We have a healthy mix of competitive players and casual ones, and most people there enjoy the game.

As for Legacy at RIW, aside from the 2 proxy tournaments I can't recall there ever being a legacy event.

Other good news, starting soon for the next 9 months Get Your Game On will be holding a power nine legacy event every month. Stay tuned for more.

Agreed, Michigan has quite a good Legacy meta and like "dahcmai" I play at the Fun Factory in Traverse City, Michigan. He really isn't lying when he says that our local shop has a really good and tough meta game.

I personally have been the T.E.S player for the most part, but almost weekly we see a few variations of Eva Green, 2-Land Belcher, 1-2 Ichorid Decks, Dreadstill, Dragon Stompy, Zoo, Pychatog, Counter-Balance based decks, and we of course have the 4-5 scrubs that play there random home brews.

If anyone ever wanted to make a trip up the tournament starts at 6:00 PM on Saturdays, and the prizes for 1st and 2nd place are 100% cash, and a promo card. We usually get quite a good turn out, and always have a good time.

If you are Going to UofM this is right on campus. My friend who goes there literally lives 2 min Walking from this store. I went to a few of these and the meta is mostly Thresh, with a few other random decks. But the decklists are strong, its not scrubb players playing reanimator and burn. So bring a real deck to one of these.
