I wanted to start a thread to see who all on the source was planning on going to Chicago for the Grand Prix this weekend. Personally, I know that there are tons of people I have gotten to know through the source, but have not gotten the chance to meet in real life. I look forward to meeting alot of you, and good luck to everyone this weekend.

You mean you've been here since '06 and you don't have the tattoo yet?

I, and the rest of my team, will be at GP: Chicago as well. This should be a great event, especially compared to the debacle that was GP: Hulk Flash. I'm kind of expecting Wizards to post an errata that completely upends the format later today.

I was suppose to be arriving Friday morning, then it became evening. Now it's Early Saturday morning, I'm talking 3 am....

Should be fun though. Watch for the dude with the T-shirt Hell.com shirts on. You should be able to pick them out, they are wrong and a half...

Our crew is either driving out friday, or taking the train Thursday night. I'm in the latter.

I'll probably be sporting a Cubbies hat, a Source tee-shirt, and shorts (depending on weather). I'll have an entourage, as well. Oh, and a huge beard.

If our crew scrubs day 1, we plan on taking in the city on day two. Anyone of age is welcome to joint us. (Typo intended)

I'm not sure if that was sarcasm or not, but honestly that's equal to or slightly better than its been the past couple weeks (i.e. WC of 9 right now).

Who's going to be there for the grinders on Fri? I'm talking a half day, so I'll be there 1-6ish...

Tosh, Mav, and I should arrive Friday around noon or so. Then we're finding a theater and watching Watchmen (I'm not adverse to having people join us, if they want).

We're staying in the hotel at the GP site, btw.

I would do IMAX if it were me, and could handle buying tickets ahead of time. I think there's still a few IMAX showtimes that aren't sold out.

I was really considering it but 1,200$ American for a plane ticket is just not going to work out.

OMG I wish I could go. But living in Georgia I just can't spend the money to make the trip. If I was anywhere within a 10 hour drive from that place, I would absolutely be going!

So those of you Sourcers who are anywhere near IL better go!!!!

Fucking hell, I really want to go, but I know there are quite a few people who will be representing the Super Games crew in Atlanta and they will basically be demolishing the field, so get ready!!!

I'll be coming in early (and I mean early) saturday morning. I'm driving from Minnesota, but have to stop by at a kegger on the way at 8. Then another 5 hours of driving. Yay!

Just found out that Daylight savings starts during this tournament. The one person to show up on time day 2, gets to win it all without playing a single game.
The rest will show up an hour late thinking they're on time.

As for me, I'll be there with a ton of people. If you find Pat Chapin, I'll be hanging out with him buying him a beer and catching up on old times. It's been a while since I've seen the guy.

We're going with like seven people (two cars, obviously), only two of whom actually play Legacy on any sort of regular basis.

Damn, now i'm really on the fence... It's an 8 hour drive to Chicago, and there's a Kegger along the way only 2 hours down... I'll be missing the festivities of Chicago, but will get to catch up with people i haven't seen in years... also beer.

Me and four others from Pittsburgh, PA are leaving in about an hour. They, unfortunately, have to play the entire Grand Prix while I come in at round 4.

Perhaps. Until that happens, I'll just be the guy in argyle. There isn't really too much of that at magic tournaments, so its distinctive enough :laugh:
